It was 7 in the morning, Camila was awake and was whining for Lauren but she didn't answer her cries through the baby monitor. With a huff that only a toddler could muster, the three-year-old just got up and walked to her sister's room. Climbing onto the bed while holding her blankie in her arms, she began to poke Lauren awake. "Mila, it's too early. Go back to sleep," Lauren groaned, turning back over and burying her face further into her pillow. "Seep wit Lolo," Camila demanded with a pout. Lauren sighed. "Okay, come here." The sister just pulled her under the covers and hugged her close. Camila snuggled back and they both went to sleep some more.

At approximately 11, Lauren rolled out of bed. She and Camila went into the kitchen, the 3-year-old following Lauren like a little duckling. Mila wanted to see everything that Lauren was doing, so instead of staying in her seat, she got out and went to Lauren's side. She peeked up to see her sister making pancakes for a late breakfast.

"Mila, please wait and sit in your seat. Pancakes should be done soon," The little girl just shook her head and smiled at Lauren, causing the older woman to roll her eyes with a sigh and escort Mila back to her seat, giving up after the third attempt, letting the girl sit on the counter beside her. Lauren flipped the last pancake into a plate and at last the two sisters ate.

However, while eating the phone rang. Lauren jumped up answering it without hesitation.

"Hello?" The girl answered.

"Hello, am I speaking with Lauren Jauregui? This is Demi Lovato from Child Services,"

Lauren tensed up, looking at her sister and then away. Were they going to take Mila away?

"Umm, what can I help you with?"

"Well, I'm calling because a relative of yours has petitioned for legal guardianship for your little sister Camila,"

Lauren's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Who would want to take Camila? How did they know of their predicament?

"I'm sorry, I'm confused. We don't have any relatives who live around our area. As far as I know, we only have relatives in Cuba,"

"Oh no, according to the file here, it says that you have an aunt who lives in Miami. It says here that she is your late father's sister.

Her dad never mentioned having a sister. Why was all of this coming up now? She asked herself. "Well even if we did, Ms. Lovato, we have never met her, my dad has never mentioned having a sister."

"I see. But at the moment, you and your sister would have to come down to CPS and sort these things out. If things take a turn from there, it would lead to a court hearing."

Lauren pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.

"Okay, can we meet tomorrow morning?"

"That would be fine. How's 9 o'clock tomorrow?"

"That's fine" Lauren paused "Can I at least get the name of my supposed aunt?"

"Her name is Maria Jauregui," The social worker replied.

"Okay, thank you. We'll see you tomorrow," Lauren hung up and made her way back to the table, looking as frustrated as ever.

"Who that?" Mila asked.

"I don't know anymore,"

Lauren spent the day looking for any information about their mysterious Aunt Maria; Going through files that their parents have left behind and searching the web for her. However, nothing came up. 'Who is she, and why does she want to take Camila away from me?' Lauren thought
