Lauren lifted Camila in her arms and the girl buried her face into her shoulder as fresh tears poured down her cheeks.

"There was a little incident during recess," Ms. Morgan spoke.

"What kind of incident?" Lauren asked as she held Camila close.

"She brought this outside with her," she held up Camila's bunny which was drenched and stained in what looked like grape juice, like Mila's uniform, and missing an ear. "Some kids had made fun of her for having it with her." She explained. "I have confronted each of the children and they are being punished accordingly."

"Is this true Mila?"

Camila nodded but didn't move to face her sister or teacher.

"You can't bring him with you anymore, okay?" Lauren said. "I'll just get her home,"

"That's a good idea. We'll see you tomorrow, Camila?" Lauren nodded as she said her goodbyes to the kindergarten teacher. Lauren signed out her little sister and buckled her into her car seat. She was still quiet, tears streaming down her face.

The older Jauregui drove home quickly and carried Mila and her stuff inside, helping her out of her stained uniform, and giving her a bath to get rid of the stickiness of the juice.

Lauren changed her into some pj's and let her sit on the couch to watch some TV, while she dealt with the uniform and one-eared bunny. She put both items into the washer, only to realize one problem: she didn't know how to sew. When both were done she had the bunny in her hand and the ear in the other contemplating what she should do, coming up with the idea to call Ally, as she knew the older friend would surely know what to do.

"Hey, Lo!"

"Hey Ally, do you know how to sew?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Mila's bunny is missing an ear,"

Ally chuckled. "I'll be over in a bit,"

"Thank you, you are a lifesaver!"

Lauren left the toy on the table and went to talk to the quiet Camila.

"Hey, Mila," Lauren took a seat beside her.

"Hi, Lolo," Camila said not making eye contact, still focusing on the TV in front of her. "You wanna talk about what happened today?"

Camila frowned and looked at her sister. "You said school would be fun,"

"I know I did, nugget, and I'm sorry, but tomorrow will be better-"

"No! I don't wanna go back!" Camila got up and ran into her room, causing Lauren to go after her.

"Mila, it won't be bad tomorrow,"

"No!" Camila started to whine. "You are going and that's final," Lauren was annoyed so she put her foot down.

Camila felt intimidated and nodded quickly. Lauren quickly realized that Camila was still sensitive about the past, kneeling down and hugging her sister. "I'm sorry. But school can be fun. It was only your first day,"

The young girl nodded and hugged her sister back.

"Thank you," Lauren picked her up to grab some food.

While Camila ate, Ally came over with Dinah and Normani.

"Where's the bunny?"

"Where's the food?"

"Where's Mila?"

"Hello to you guys too. The bunny's on the table, food is with Mila, who's in the kitchen," Lauren answered.
