As fast as he can [ Namjoon ft. Jin]

Early in the winter of 2017, her bestfriend had called her up for some coffee in which she gladly agreed to.

"What brings you in town?"

She greets the dark haired boy before sitting across him.

"Work. We got reassigned to Seoul, apparently stocks are way high up here."

Seokjin replies.

"Can't believe you're actually your Father's company's vice chairman"

He laughs

"Me neither"

They share the funniest and most emotional stories and soon, start to remember the past.

"Are you still hung up on you know who?"

Seokjin playfully raises his eyebrow, earning a slap from Y/N. He laughs, taking a sip from his now cold espresso

"Of course not. Jimin had been married ages ago. You were even one of his groomsmen oh my gosh"

He continues to laugh, wiping imaginary tears. Clearing his throat, he stops gradually.

"I was just kidding though. Anyway, jokes aside, are you eyeing anyone? I'm about to have my 3rd child and you're still single"

He asks the younger one. She sighs

"I know. I've been coming and going through relationships thinking that they'd be the one but, they aren't. If only you and i worked out."

Seokjin sighs. He knew what she was talking about. They had been labeled as star crossed lovers in high school. They had been so madly in love with each other but they just never met in the middle. Y/N would have a boyfriend when Jin was single and vice versa. It went on for a while until Jin found his now wife. Y/N loved Jin but she knew that what is, will be, and she and Jin weren't what it'll be.

"Have I ever told you the story of the time i got pulled over?"

He asks, Y/N looks at him in confusion

"Well, i was going about 200 miles per hour and then sirens blare until i come to a full stop"

Y/N was still in complete awe on what she was hearing.

"And then the officer walks up to my window, a smug look on his face and goes: 'Young man, do you know how fast you are going?' And then i pant, replying to him quickly 'Sorry officer, I came here as fast as I could'"

Y/N laughs.

"Did that really happen?"

Seokjin chuckles, placing a palm on Y/N's hand

"Of course not. It's just an old joke"

"Oh"

Y/N giggles

"What i'm trying to say is, your prince charming is out there. It may not have been me or any of the guys you've dated but he whoever it may be, will be and he's trying to get to you as fast as he can"

She smiles, holding his hand in hers, nodding.

"Okay"

They then continued to speak for a few more hours, promising to catch up again soon and soon enough, they bid goodbye.

"It was nice seeing you again, Seokjin"

Y/N watches Seokjin exit the cafe, holding up an umbrella as the rain drizzled. She watched the people come in and out of the cafe just like how people come and go in life.

When she was about to leave, the
thunder and lightning strikes, making her sit back down. Great, looks like i'm stuck here. She thinks to herself.

The coffee shop's bell rings and her eyes quickly scan who it was, he had this yellow umbrella that was so hard to miss, and when he finally looks up, and then their eyes meet.

"Namjoon?"

It was her roommate.

"Y/N. The rain was getting worse and i knew you forgot your umbrella, that's why i came as fast as i could"

She was surprised, touched and speechless all at once, all she could do was hug him, startling Namjoon.

"I'm glad you did"

She whispers softly, as she slowly tightened her hug.
