Its time for the showdown between father and daughter! This is going to be exciting, but something big will happen, well, a few things which you'll have to find out for yourselves. I don't give out those things willy nilly you know. Enjoy! ^.^

He met me with his cold gaze and it was hard for me to make eye contact since it was so intimidating. Then I noticed that he had a new Pokemon with him, one that I'd never seen before, but I couldn't look it up in the Pokedex since I broke it.

"Sapphire, you won't be able to find this Pokemon in the Pokedex Professor Birch gave you," he said.

"Well, I wouldn't be able to do so. It...it broke..."

"Reckless. That's how it got broken, because-"

"N-no...oh, who am I kidding. I was reckless but what else could've I have done. It wasn't entirely my fault since it was taken away from me intentionally and shattered to pieces just the same..."

I trailed off from my sentence when he was glaring at me. It was no use, all I could do was apologize and go home. No! I had a reason to keep going on my journey!

"Dad, I'm sorry I ran away but you can't make me go home! No, I won't go home at all! I have a journey to finish, I have to stop Team Aqua and Team Magma from-"

"Which is exactly why I came here to test you."

"You don't understand-wait what? You came here to test me?"

"Yes. I know that you can be reckless but I know you have the skills so if you can defeat me then I'll let you continue your journey."

Did he mean that? Did he really mean that? Would he? If we were going to battle it would be here on this bridge in the rain. Not only that but the bridge was slippery so one wrong move and you could fall into the rushing river.

"I'll do it. I'll fight you."

"Good. We'll just use one Pokemon, is that fine by you?"

"Yup, its just fine."

Would he use that new Pokemon, or his Pidgeot. No, his Spinda and Vigoroth would be much better-wait! He was of course going to use Slaking, his strongest. I couldn't use Crimson, dad would easily figure out everyone of our tactics. Paige didn't have enough strength along with Sparkzette and Troppy still wasn't strong enough to use her new move. Kipz was the only choice I had left, but at least we would have an advantage since the rain would power up his water type moves. I returned Crimson to her Poke Ball and left Kipz out.

"Dad, I'll be using Kipz, the Pokemon Professor Birch gave me, to battle you and your Slaking."

"Good choice since it is raining," he said sending out Slaking.

"Kipz, you ready?"

"Yeah. This rain makes me feel refreshed and powered up!"

"Good. Then let's battle!"

"I see that you're ready, then let's begin. Slaking! Use Facade!"

"Kipz! Use Water Pulse!"

Kipz's head fin turned blue and he fired a huge sphere of water at Slaking who slammed its huge paws at it sending it flying into the river. Some water flew out of the river but that didn't bother us.

"Not bad Sapphire."

"Thanks. Alright Kipz! Use Ice Punch!"

Slaking had the ability Traunt so now was our chance to get a good attack in. Kipz hand glowed blue and he punched Slaking hard freeing the Pokemon instantly. Just then he broke out of the ice and he looked pretty ticked off.
