The Word of God or the Word of Men?

Just before we left the church an announcement was made for a change to the curricula for Priesthood and Relief Society. This change eliminated any study references and would focus only on General Conference talks. This disturbed me greatly as one of my main issues with the Church was they were moving farther and farther away from the scriptures. I've already discussed what I believe is a condemnation upon the church, this only made it worse. The church is further burying the Word of God and relying more and more on the words of men. I have went the opposite direction. With, as I mentioned the wonderful information and technology at our fingertips today, we have unprecedented access to the Word of God, even in the original languages. My hierarchy of scripture is as follows: The Old Testament (Jewish Tanak), the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants. I believe we each individually need to study the Word of God, taking into account to original language, culture and context to come to knowledge of the will of Yehovah God. We need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling before the Almighty God.
