After my military career we settled in Florida. I became a veil worker in the Orlando Temple and continued in this role for nearly two decades. Our oldest son served a mission in Oregon, but shortly after returning became inactive and a few years later had his name removed from the records of the Church. This was very disappointing to us as parents. Our other two sons never served missions, they both have drug addiction issues and one was diagnosed with a debilitating mental illness. Our youngest child, our only girl, always wanted to serve a mission and was preparing for a mission when the announcement was made lowering the age for young women to serve, she departed for a mission in California speaking Spanish shortly thereafter.
