Higher Law?

 Let's discuss the concept of the lesser and higher law. According to the doctrine of the LDS church the law of Moses is considered the lesser law and was given to the people "as a replacement of the higher law that they had failed to obey." (Bible Dictionary, Law of Moses) The church doctrine even seems to indicate the first tablets (Which Moses broke in his anger at the children of Israel worshiping the golden calf) contained different information than the second set of tablets. (See Old Testament Student Manual The Mosaic Law: A Preparatory Gospel Exodus 21–24; 31–35) How would this be possible? A careful reading of Exodus 20:1 "And God spake all these words, saying," (emphasis added) What? God actually spoke to the children of Israel? Yes! He did! And it is my belief that he did not stutter! What he spoke he caused to be written, not once, but twice for the children of Israel. Yehovah does not waiver, what He speaks is final and unchanging. He alone is God! With that said are there more spiritual interpretations of the ten commandments? Absolutely!

15 Yehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

16 According to all that thou desiredst of Yehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Yehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. (Deuteronomy 18:15-16)

Yeshua is the prophet we must heed and obey. (Shema in the Hebrew) As I showed earlier Yeshua stated he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfil it. Yeshua perfectly lived the Torah or the law. What law? The law of Moses! He taught by word and deed how to perfectly live the Torah both physically and spiritually. He really did fulfil the law and taught perfectly how to live it.
