Nam-joon isn't at school today, which is super weird. He would tell me if he wasn't going to show up. Maybe it was an important family matter or maybe he got sick all of a sudden. Yea, that has to be it. Why am I making up excuses for him? He hasn't messaged me since yesterday. And it has been a few days since that night we went out to eat. The night where Tae-hyung had to show up and ruin my moment. He has other things to do it's not like he goes to school and home everyday. He has a family and I'm sure other friends from where he used to live. "Hey, Seok-jin!" Ji-min claps his hands in front of my face pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Sorry?" I look at Ji-min confused.
"You have been staring at the classroom door all break." Ji-min tells me.
I nod and gaze down at my feet in defeat. "I know,"
"Looking for Nam-joon?" Ji-min asks but I still don't look at him.
"No, no. Just searching for the teacher." I lie to him even though we both know he's right.
Ji-min laughs while nudging me. "You are so obvious! Do you like him? I can't believe you got over Tae-hyung that fast, you animal!"
I smile and blush. There Ji-min goes talking about Tae-hyung again. It's not his fault because who wouldn't bring up Tae-hyung in this situation? If Nam-joon were here it wouldn't have been brought up. "It's not like that." He rolls his eyes at my statement.
"You never told me how that date went with Nam-joon the other night." Ji-min brings up.
"It wasn't a date, Ji-min," I groan. "It was okay till...Tae-hyung had to ruin it." I tell him.
Ji-min claps his hands and stomps his feet causing a couple people to look over at us. "I can't believe Tae-hyung showed up! This is such a k-drama!"
It wasn't that fun as you think, Ji-min. Not fun at all. I think that could be the key reason why Nam-joon didn't show up today because of Tae-hyung. Did Tae-hyung do something else that I'm not aware of? Why does it matter to me what he does? I bite the insides of my cheeks looking down at the floor. "Did you see what else Tae-hyung posted last night?" Ji-min asks me taking his phone out of his pocket. I shake my head as Ji-min moves closer to me showing me his phone screen of Tae-hyung's Instagram post. "It's scary look at this." Ji-min clicks on a photo of Nam-joon exiting the restaurant from last night.
My eyes widen as I take Ji-min's phone out of his grasp reading the caption. Tae-hyung always has one but there isn't one single word underneath. Just comments asking what the photo was for, people saying they have seen him around school and over three hundred people liked the post. Ji-min takes back his phone with a huff. "Warn me next time you take my phone, I don't want you looking through my photos."
"Why would he post something like that?" I cover my face with my hands thinking of the many possibilities of what Tae-hyung was getting at with the photo.
"That's where you were last night, right?" Ji-min scans the photo not seeing me in sight. I nod. "Has Nam-joon seen? You should see if he's okay."
I nod once more and go to reach for my phone that isn't in its rightful place. In my uniform jacket, empty. Panic fills me as I ravage through my things in my desk. Where is it? "Seoik-jin, is this your phone?" A classmate walks my way holding my rose gold iPhone6. My eyes brighten seeing the random classmate I haven't noticed.
"Yes, it is!" I grab my phone from his hand. "Where did you find it?"
"It was on the floor outside in the hallway," he turns around to look out the classroom door, "must have fallen from your jacket. I see you every morning hide from someone with your jacket so it must have fallen from there."
