Chapter 5: Trouble on the rise

Darkness surrounded the room. Though it was only 8:00pm, he tossed and he turned. The young shinobi had decided take a nap due to the stress of using the karma seal and pushing his training earlier in the day.

"Hargh!.... *pants... It was just a dream" kawaki says, waking up suddenly, sweating and pale.

"Im.. Im not a monster, I cant be. That wont happen. I wont let it happen."

As he catches his breath he lies back down. His hand goes above him and looks at his karma seal.

"Boruto... "

Meanwhile...

"Boruto! Come on!"

"Im coming already, why are we running?!" he says following sarada's pace behind her.

"Because we're gonna miss it!"

"Miss what???"

And all of a sudden a large firework blew up in the sky across the Hidden Leaf's river.

"Tomorrow's the celebration of the day the 4th Great Ninja War ended. So Katasuke-san is setting up a big fireworks display. He told me to come check it out around this time for a preview." Sarada says, both she and boruto looking up to the sky as many colours and shapes explode.

Boruto was still looking up while listening to her, not uttering a word. It was.... magical but then he
realized something very important.

"Wait, tomorrow? That means its dad's birthday! Its also the day he and sasuke-san beat kaguya and sealed her away. And also the day sasuke-san..."

"Its alright, i know, papa told me all about it." She says to him, which triggers a concern look on boruto. She knew what he was thinking, like maybe he shouldnt have brought up that her father was evil until naruto stopped him. But she didnt want him to feel uncomfortable, hes a baka though.

Sarada chuckles and pulls his hand. "Dont worry. Come on! I know a place we can see it with a better view"

"Woah hey sarada! Slow down! "

Soon they reach a small hilltop where they can see the scientific ninja tools lab launching the fireworks, the river as well, a couple of people are finally gathering to watch too. Man, they're in for a treat tonight. Fireworks in the sky lit up the night, consisitng of mainly special firesyle jutsu using the new equiment katasuke-san developed.

"Wow... Its something huh" she says as both of them stand close to each other.

"Yeah... It really is.. " he looks at her. The fireworks light reflecting off her beautiful face. But he doesnt stare for long before she notices.

She smiles and says "what?", so innocently, as if she doesnt know what shes doing to him.

"Wha.. Urm nothing"he says, embarrassed and looks back to the fireworks display.

"This is a really good place for a first date"

Sarada, reminded by the fact that they are now currently dating and well, this is actually a date, threw a big smile on her face while slightly blushing.

"Well, i thought it would be more special if we came here you know. That way we can remember it well. I mean, that is if we continue....you know... Dating"

"Sarada, i would love to go out on a second date with you." He says and suddenly kisses her on the cheek

Sarada was stunned, her face turned red as a tomato when the kiss reminded her of a more intimate one they shared a few nights ago.

"Baka.."

Boruto pov
"Shes so adorable" he thought. "The sarada i knew when i was a kid wasnt like this. Now that we're both adults i feel like im meeting a whole new side to her"

"I like this part of you ya know." He said mindlessly. "Did i just say that out loud?"

Sarada was really red now. His words and actions making her heart beat faster every minute.

"Well, ummm, this soft side of you's not that bad either" she replies in a mocking yet playful way. They both turn to look at each other now.

"Alright alright, we gotta stop the sweet talk, any more or i'll have to kiss you again" she says firmly, but a slight chuckle between her words

"That doesnt sound so bad" he takes a step closer.

Sarada looks at him silently with a loving look. Her onyx eyes focused on his blue ocean ones.

Boruto leans in but just as he does, he quickly switches his kiss to just a cute peck on the tip of her nose.

"Hey.. What.. " but before she could finish her sentence, boruto used two fingers and poked her on the forehead gently.

Sarada blushed at his gesture,she put a hand to her forehead and held it there with a whiny face on. "What was that for?"

Ignoring what she said, he grabbed her hand this time and interlocked it with his. "Walk with me"

She lightly nodded and followed his lead.

Some time later...

The two shinobi walked hand in hand in the silent cold night. Winter was coming. Due to the outbreak of huge explosions during the 4th Great Ninja War, the world climate has changed drastically. The Leaf was quiet, many people closing up shops and going to sleep.

She looks up to him, looking at his scar and strong jaw.

"Whatre you thinking about?" She asks cutely.

"3 years ago, you and me were such different people. Now here i am, dating the best kunoichi the Leaf has ever seen. Daughter of one of the strongest shinobi i know. Oh....wait till he finds out. Hes probaly gonna kill me." sarada laughs.

"I just...i, didnt see this coming. And thats what makes it so great."

"Really? Hmm... I have to admit, ive been feeling this way about you for a long time now"

"Huh?? Since when?"

"Ever since you said youd be my protector and would stay by my side always, on the top of the Great Stone faces. Youve never said something...so nice to me like that before. So i just...started feeling something. It wasnt strong at first but it was there."

"Im glad that it was, or i wont be able to do this" he swoops in and kisses her, surprising her again but all the more welcoming it. She kisses him back passionately whilst putting her hands around his neck. The kiss wasnt long but it was a sweet one, full of love.

After that he pulls back for air and she does the same. "Ive been wanting to do that all night"

Sarada was out of breath but responds anyways. "Oh... I think ive noticed"

"........"

"You two really do make a cute couple"

"Mitsuki?!!" They say pulling apart

"How long have you been there?! And how come neither of us can notice? " sarada says to him, then directing her last question to boruto.

"I dont know, i just got here. Plus, seeing you guys like this makes me happy, i think i played a part in putting you two pieces together." They both blush slightly and look away from each other.

"So whats up?" Boruto asks.

"Come on, we've been summoned by the hokage, konohamaru sensei is already waiting for us."

As they rushed to the hokages office, boruto had only been thinking about two things. How awesome it is that sarada is his girlfriend and the other...

"Team 7 is back dattebasa!"
