The aftermath of the war. The two 20 year old adults, Boruto and sarada, have been doing quite well, their progress as a special class of shinobi safeguards the village, their level equal and more powerful to that of Legendary Sanin. They have surpassed their parents, both have more powers and have grown stronger since the final battle. And thats not the only thing thats grown, their romantic relationship escalates as well.
The popularity of the saviors of the ninja world does put a little pressure on them but they can take it. So much now has been expected from them. Though maybe thats not the problem, something has been bothering boruto lately.
"Hargh!" Boruto shouts as he suddenly awakens from his sleep. Sarada at his side wakes up instantly as well. She spent the night over at his house, though nothing happened, they were both tired from a long mission and she was just there and so they cuddled under the blanket and went to bed.
"Boruto, whats wrong?!" She holds his shirt, but he doesnt respond, then he turns his head towards her slowly and sighs. He puts his hand up to her cheek and pants. He was sweating and looked pale.
"Whats wrong boruto kun..." She pleads, but he remains quiet and gets up and sits at the side of the bed.
"It was a nightmare" he says softly and puts his face into his hands. Sarada sitting up on the bed behind him and puts her head on his back, just below his neck.
"Im sorry i woke you" he rubs his face and sighs, feeling guilty.
"Its alright boruto...its about him again right?"
"I.... I killed him sarada... Someone ive known for a long time, a friend. A person i cared about, and i killed him."
"Youve been having trouble sleeping these past few nights too, i noticed" she says, and lightly kisses the back of his neck and then she gets up and sits next to him.
He looks at her and he couldnt help but let out a nervous goofy smile of uncertainty, probaly trying his best to show her that hes okay.
"We'll get through this together okay? You and me." She says with a reassuring look.
"Its been 3 years sarada. This might go on forever, i dont know... I just... You know I was having trouble with this back then, then it stopped and now its back again. Time can tell the difference."
