Chapter 15: New changes

Boruto and sarada walked alongside each other, they are at the market in Leaf Central. Boruto holding some grocery bags while sarada buying fish from a humble fisherman.

"Pretty sure this is kinda alot sarada?" He says, holding one too many bags already.

"What? Im just following the list mom and your mom gave." She holds out the list to him to prove it.

"Well its starting to hurt my hannds" he whines but sarada snares at him and suddenly, he could hold ten more.

"Hmm thats what i thought, come on we got a few more stops left" she says with a proud look.

Just as she turned to the next stall a name from the billboard caught her attention, it was a reporter saying something over the breaking news title.

"and so Naruto , our Lord Hokage has told us all that this is the beginning of the Fifth Great Ninja War. The five kage sum..." all the villagers gasp. Boruto and sarada's eyes could not believe what they are seeing, what they are hearing. The bags from boruto's hands drop as sarada embraced him. He puts his arm around her and her hand on his chest. Their faces saddened as they continued watching the news on the billboard. Dark times were ahead indeed.

Later... Uzumaki residence

"Sarada! Come help set up the table!"
Sakura yells from the kitchen. Sarada laid down on boruto's bed but she was alone. Boruto went to see his dad about this whole thing and she encouraged him on going. Naruto may need him right now. She laid on one side, her arm thats against the bed moving up and down slowly, feeling the absent space of the one she loves. She starts reminiscing about the times when they were small, how much fun they had... Team 7 and every one of her friends were family. Now everything's changed.

She took a deep breath and sat up. Then she saw a picture on his desk. A photo of team 7. She picked it up and couldnt help but smile.

"Hey... " boruto said leaning against the door with his arms crossed.

"Oh boruto kun... Sorry, i didnt see you there" she says, but she looked like she was still lost in thought.

"You okay?" He walks over to her slowly and takes her hand. He spins her around and she holds on to him. She puts her feet on his feet, their bodies couldnt get any closer. He takes short steps, seeing as her feet are placed on his, he couldnt take a step bigger than half a feet or they would fall and she would get angry coz hes an idiot. So he put his hand around her back and her hands around his neck while her head laid against his chest as he walked like a penguin around his room.

"Im fine now... Thanks to you. Tchh... Channnaro, i dont know how you do it" she says with a slight grin.

"Do what?"

"Get me like this... I just.... " she sighs before she could finish the sentence. Then she mumbles something into his chest. Her face red, she was so cute he could only keep himself together for so long.

"I love you" she whispers, so soft he could barely hear her but then again, her saying it is the best thing ever, so he'll take it in all shapes and sizes.

"I love you too short stuff" he says as they continue their embrace and their weird 'waltz'.

"How'd it go with your dad?"

"We talked it out, hes sad. I can see it in his eyes even though he wont admit it. I managed to convince him to come home with me, which took alot." He knew she was concerned about him, about naruto, about everyone. Naruto is her best chance at showing her the ropes on how to become hokage,not only that,he was family too. Looks like the path to becoming the hokage just became alot harder than it was before. But he'll support her, he'll be there when she needs him. Always will.
