The group walked through many game and food booths, having lots of fun along the way. Boruto winning anything he could at every game sarada was so excited to try. Laughing with joy as they go along. The more fun they had, the more she forgot where they were actually going. Sumire is a good friend to them, to her. She knew she had feelings for boruto for a long time now, longer than she did. She just didnt show it all too much, but sarada could see through her. She sort of indirectly confessed to her that she liked him at one point, and now she is dating him, somehow or rather she feels guilty, maybe he was supposed to end up with sumire but she kinda stole him from her.
"Hey short stuff, you okay?" Boruto says knocking her side abit with his arm as they continue walking downtown with their hands intertwined.
"Ha ha very funny, im not short, youre just... Too tall" she makes a funny face with her tongue sticking out the side of her mouth and puts up her hand against his forehead like a gesture to measure his height.
"And youre just too adorable" he leans in to kiss her but just as he does he hears a familiar name being called.
"Sumire! There you are, we've been looking all over for you" cho cho says, as they meet sumire and her team playing a game at a booth.
Sarada pulls back just before their lips connect and jumps a one meter away from him, leaving him confused, sratching his head.
"Sarada?" He says looking at her, not noticing sumire standing right behind him.
"Ehemm... Boruto kun..." Sumire says in her high cute voice. He turns around and starts realizing slowly but cant seem to connect the dots on how sarada was acting and the appearance of sumire.
"Oh hey there sumire, whats up?" His face as clueless as ever.
"Oh nothing much, you having fun?" She says , then starts walking at his side as soon as the group starts moving on from booth to booth. Her hands locked behind her back.
"Um yeah i guess so." He tries to walk back towards sarada's side who was infront of him but couldnt reach in time before sumire busted out another question. "Do you know what the Moon festival is about?"
"Urmm...no" he says, but thinks he has no choice but to listen anyway.
"Well once there were people on the moon, a few times a year they would come down to earth to visit us, until one day when a woman from the moon fell in love with a man from earth. The rules say it is forbidden to do so, but their love was strong, and they would do anything to be with each other. Though one day something happened on the moon..... War. A civil war broke out amongst them. The woman sacrificed herself so that the war could not reach the earth and spread it there. When she stopped visiting he became sad. He hoped for her return by putting these flowers under a tree they used to visit, as symbol of their love. The villagers do it too every year." She holds the beautiful looking flowers in her hands, looking at them while she tells the story. Boruto felt very uncomfortable, not knowing where this is all going.
"So... Urm.... Mmm..." She stutters, a nervous look appears as well as her shy body language which he obviously noticed.
Sarada cant help but overhear their conversation and slowed her pace as she hears sumire's stuttering, curious on what she has to say. Boruto's eyes widen a little, realizing this is about to get really awkward, really fast.
"Sumire.. I"
"I was wondering if youd like to go out on a date some time?" She asks, her voice loud, cho cho, iwabe and denki all pause. Sarada, stops but doesnt turn. She peeks over to look at him but isnt angry.
"I.. I cant... Im...me and sarada..we're.." He says awkwardly, his hand behind the back of his neck, pretending to scratch it. When she heard his response sarada turned around.
