4 months later...
It was a stormy night, rain fell nonstop the whole day. Thunder cracks replacing the silence of the dark and the cold surrounded the Uzuchiha residence.
Boruto laid on one side of the bed, facing itsuki as he slept and sarada, facing haruto on the other.
The shinobi whos saved the world countless times still dreams of the horrors he's faced, the choices hes had to make, the people... who's lives hes had to put to an end.He wasnt his father, hes had to face things his old man hasnt faced before, put in situations nobody in the world has ever been in, and made decisions that he thought was for the best. After he ended the life of one he thought was his closest friend, maybe even family, hes been having trouble sleeping, even living was becoming hard. So much has changed since he left the village. He never knew he would be here now. The only person keeping him from falling any further was none other than his wife, the sole love of his life. A friend whos been with him through the toughest times, and will continue to be there for him until the end of times. But even she could not stop the darkness killing him, little by little, making him colder and draining him of the person he is. Slowly, she was losing him. And he was losing himself. But she was his light.
He felt so grateful to have her in his life, and even bless him with two beautiful babies. A new purpose was born when he first knew she was carrying their children. It is to be there for them, just like his wife is there for him.
He turned to sarada, looking at her for a short moment, the uchiha crest merged with the uzumaki crest on the back of her shirt. He decided to just pull her close to him, wrapping his arms around her and hugging tightly. Sarada felt his hold and slowly awoke.
"Hey... You okay?" She says, caressing his hair with her free hand.
"I love you so much" he whispers into her neck.
"I love you too"
They cuddle a little as she continues to caress his head. She knew he was troubled so she stayed awake until he fell asleep.
The next morning boruto kissed his wife romantically, wishing her the best at work while he stayed at home to look after the kids, so one can assume hes in retirement. Team 7 did come over from time to time to visit their sensei, and he would pratice with each of them in the front yard on the condition that one of them keeps watch on the baby boys.
Mako was always the most gullible one with them, so she would train on her own, then follow her friends just to see the babies, and well, ask her sensei about anything that she might want to know about training. Riko and yuri would just try their best to spar with him, trying to get the bells, use new taijutsus and so on. Recent events has proved that the world still indeed, has a need for shinobi. Their existence maybe seemed futile in the time of peace, but to keep that peace, shinobi must exist. The age of shinobi has not come to an end just yet.
Meanwhile...
Work had just finished, sarada was about to head home but she remembered a particular person she wanted to meet. Someone whos caused her a lot of pain and trauma in the past. She was not out for vengeance, she was out just to settle some things, thats all.
Leaf's top security Prison.
"Lady sarada, are you sure you want to see him?"
"Yes commissioner, now if you would please" she points towards the prison bars with her eyes. He was hesitant about it, seeing as Lord sasuke has specifically said no one was to meet him, because of what he did to his daughter. But he outranked her father, and he was just as afraid of her as he was of him.
