Sarada knew how much he hated going on missions ever since the war. She knew that everytime he used a jutsu or held his sword it reminded him of the day he kil... The day the war ended. It haunted him, something he could never get over.
A comrade....
A friend....Whenever he was on missions after the war he would be so cold. He was never the same after he did what he did. The only thing stopping him from changing any further was them, everyone, all the villagers, the people, his mom and dad, his little sister, his master, his sensei, herself, and the two children inside her. They were his world.
And now to protect his world, he has to endure. She understands that. And the amount of respect she has gained from him being who he is now has made her realize alot of things. Like no matter how far we fall, the people you love and love you in return, will be there to pick you up. Its the why we get up that really makes it all matter. Its the reason we fight, we endure, we suffer. For those that we love. For the world that we love. And thats why in that world we must protect.
"I see. How long?" Sarada says and he turns back to her. He lies down on her lap, facing her pregnant belly. He slowly caresses it, wishing so much to see their faces.
"I dont know... "
"But you'll comeback to me right?" She says, a slight sad tone in her soft voice, almost like a whisper. He peeks up to her to see if shes crying, but no, she was okay, to hell with the mission if it made my wife cry, he thought.
He said nothing, only looking in her eyes, those onyx eyes that always made him stare in awe.
"Promise me? Okay?" She says, trying to hold in her breaking voice as if she was going to cry. "Promise?"
He got up from her lap and laid his forehead slowly against hers.
"I promise"
"Youre gonna.." She starts to sob a little, her voice breaking even more. "You're gonna be a father remember?"
He smiles as their heads still connect to each other.
"Im going to be a father...."
"Damn right channaroo.." her sobs coming even more now. "You better be here when they decide to pop out"he chuckles against her lips, then swopping in for a kiss. A short and sweet one. One to make sure she feels safe and loved.
"I love you"
"I love you.." She replies and she falls asleep facing him. He looked so peaceful and at home. Her drowsy eyes closed at the sight of him.
The next morning...
Leaf Main Entrance"Heres your lunch. Dont forget to eat." She says cutely, handing it to him with an Uzumaki and Uchiha crest merged together, half and half.
"Thanks hun." He says and hugs her tightly, kissing her forehead, then planting two kisses on her belly. A tear fell from her face as he did so. She quickly wiped it and looked to shikadai, and standing behind him was Karin, Wasabi and Denki.
"You take care of him okay? Thats my husband you have there" she says, wiping some tears out of her eyes as he stood from her belly, giving her a smile and walking away.
"I'll bring him back no matter what it takes." Shikadai said determinedly.
Somehow those few words gave her abit of comfort. But it was still hard and it was painful to watch him go. His back turned, wearing her father's cloak and walking straight, further and further away. He knew if he turned he'd have a pain he could never forget and his heart would be filled with regret.
