"All this... Just to find out there are dozens, probaly hundreds or thousands of them out there." Kurotsuchi frustrated by the news.
"What are we gonna say to them? This is it... This is the endgame" chojuro closes his eyes, thinking of the dark days ahead of them.
Gaara looks to naruto, still looking outside to the Leaf, little kids playing around and chasing each other. Next to them the academy, Shino teaching traditional shinobi sparring in the school yard. Then just people, doing their own work, living their own lives, peacefully.
"Naruto?" Gaara breaks the noise amongst the chattering kage. They all look to him now.
"He looked me in the eye, and he said...theres nothing here for him, like there never was. Theyve poisoned his mind, hes.. "
"Hes the enemy now, everything that we've built, everything and everyone that has grown and lived, is in danger. Naruto, i understand that you have more than one responsibility, as a kage and as a father, one was to him, but the rest are to us, to everyone you love and care about, the kids in the leaf are our kids too, every single one of them. The next generation is apart of us, and the boy and that god threatens their very existence."
Naruto sighs... Tears forming up in his eyes. He knew this day would come again, and he knew the pain and loss that will come with it. The death, the suffering...he was not going to let it happen again.... Never.
"Boruto..." he thinks as he takes one last glance of the leaf.
Naruto turns and looks at them, everyone in the room looking at him, even sasuke whos been there the whole time, quietly listening next to shikamaru. All eyes on the Hokage, anxious to hear his response. They can see the tears flowing down his face, true sadness in them. The room goes dead silent....
"Prepare for war."
Meanwhile... Leaf Hospital
"Come on mitsuki, you'll be alright" boruto says, sitting on a chair beside his bed. Mitsuki still unconscious but he looks like hes healing, thanks to modern medicine and technology.
Boruto sat there for a long time, waiting for any sort of response, but received none so he decided to read kakashi's book to kill some time. While reading on the many ecchi sections containing significant data on dealing with women and some actual women, which he closed quickly when he reached them but just as he did he thought to himself. "Where the hell is sarada?"
And speaking of which, she came bursting through the door. Not noticing boruto and straight headed for mitsuki.
"Mitsuki..."She says softly, holding the bars beside his bed.
"Sarada? What... You look terrible" boruto gets up and walks over to her. Her clothes all dirty, she had some bruises on her body and eye bags.
"Eh? Oh.. I guess i am... Its... Uhm.. Its" she starts wobbling, losing her balance. "Its been a long night..." She says and drops but boruto catches her in time. He picks her up bridal style and sets her down on the empty hospital bed next to mitsuki's.
