Chapter 8: From far away...

"Took you two long enough" gaara says sitting down against the very wall that was holding him frozen as sarada used a light firestyle jutsu to melt the ice.

"Sorry kazekage sama, we became... A little distracted." She says, taking a few awkward glaces at boruto who did the same.

Gaara looks at both of them and well, takes the hint.

"Hmm, i understand, how is the village?"

"We're about to find out, the rest are already fighting, i can hear them from here" boruto takes a look out of the small cell's window.

"Kazekage sama, what happened?"

"I dont know, there was a man in the room disguised as one of my counselors and when i noticed, suddenly everything went dark and here i am." He rubs his head, feeling a small budge.

"I could hear them talking... When i was frozen. They were speaking about a specific shinobi, ive never heard about him before. His name was... Kawaki. Are you familiar with this person?"

Boruto and sarada looked at each other and realized what their true target was.

"Im afraid so"

"With power like this they couldve taken the village at any time they want. Why now? " he asks them but they were too busy thinking.

"Days after you come home and the attack on the sand to target kawaki...this is not a coincidence" sarada says looking at boruto who was still looking outside the window, she couldnt see him fully but when he turned to her, she saw it again.

Karma, alongside boruto's entire right half of his body, from the palm of his hand till over his right eye.

"Bo... Boruto youre"

"We have to go. Now."

Meanwhile...

"Urgh.... Mitsuki.... Kawaki.... " konohamaru tries to speak but could barely move. Him and all the other shinobi except for kawaki and mitsuki were frozen in place.

"So youve finally activated your most valuable asset. The karma. Now its getting serious"

Mitsuki jumps up from behind him while he was speaking, hoping to strike him while he was distracted, but failed and got tossed towards a wall and froze against it, just like gaara. The ice absorbs the victim's chakra, disabling them and putting them to sleep.

Mitsuki knew he could get out but he couldnt reveal his greatest asset. Not yet. Especially not infront of an enemy he knew is very strong and another who could potentially become one in the future. "Boruto, sarada, you guys have to do thi... "

As kawaki and sojiro battle, kawaki became more and more aggresive, spamming jutsus that counter the icy attacks of sojiro.

And finally...

"Harghhhhh!" Kawaki uses a shadow clone, the jutsu taught by naruto to him in his final move and striking sojiro from behind with his bone sword.

"Argh..... You.... Youve finally become the monster we wanted you to be. Feel the blood on your hands kawaki. You are a monster, killer, murderer.
You always will be....... You... Always... Will......... " and he drops down. The second he does boruto and sarada arrives.

Boruto's eyes widen as his comrade takes the life of the enemy. Kawaki's expression was enraged, so filled with vengence and anger.

Sarada rushed to release all the surrounding shinobi. Thinking that maybe only boruto could deal with kawaki at this time.
