"When is our food coming? I'm hungry" Dana groaned as she grabbed the last piece of bread that sat in our basket in the middle of the table
"Dana that's the third basket of bread you ate by yourself" Elena said to her and she rolled her eyes
"Shut up"
Today Derek was nice and treated us out to dinner at Olive Garden but I kind of felt kind of bad being that he was the only guy. While he and momma talked on one of the table and Dana argued with Elena about bread, I just sat there quietly and watched. I wouldn't say that I was on my feelings, but I was just going through on of those spells where I missed Kentrell
"Noel, you okay babygirl?" I could hear my momma ask. I looked over at her and saw a look of concern on her face so I nodded
"Yeah. I'm straight"
"She probably hungry too"
"You the only impatient person fatass" Elena responded back to dana which caused her to smack her lips
"I am not impatient. They just need to hurry up"
"Dana the lady just took our orders five minutes ago"
"So" she shrugged and her eyes laid on our server, who was leaving another table "excuse me!"
The lady stopped and politely smiled "yes ma'am. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Some more bread or something. I'm hungry as hell"
"Dana!" Momma called our her name while face palming herself and the server laughed
"I'll have you some more bread right out in a minute"
Once the lady walked off Momma just shook her head and Dana smiled
"Noel. Why that boy lookin at you like that?" Momma asked and I followed her eyes. Some boy at a nearby table was eyeing me down. I turned back to face her and shook my head
"Ion know but I'm good"
"I'd hope you'd be. We don't need Kentrell to catch a murder case" Elena said to me and I looked at her
"You right. This one month is killing me enough"
"Speaking of cases, I heard I was gonna have to represent you on one if you would've hit that girl anymore than you did" Derek said with a chuckle
"I wasn't tryina kill her. I guess I just blacked out for a second"
"Noel.. you almost killed that girl. Then she started crying when the nurse helped her off of the table. Betcha she know not to start with you nomore" Elena said while cracking up
"I didn't even want it to go down like that honestly. Y'all know I'm not the fighting type"
"I know" momma spoke up "that's why I wasn't too hard on you when I found out you got suspended. But please make this the last time"
"It will be. Don't worry" I promised her.
After a while our food came out and we started eating and having conversation.
"That was Elena who used to pee in the bed every time she stayed the night with us" I defended myself as we discussed stuff from when we were little
"I mean it wasn't my fault. I tried to hold it through the night cause I was scared to walk through the house at night. Dana used to tell me there were demons hiding in the house that were out to get me"
We all looked at Dana and she started laughing
"Y'all knew I didn't like Elena back then"
"Well you love me now so I don't care" Elena said as she flipped her hair
"Yeah and now you don't pee in the bed nomore either" I added and Elena mugged me while everybody else started laughing. Derek's phone started ringing so he politely got up and walked away from the table, answering it as he walked off. Once he was gone we all looked at momma
"What y'all lookin' at me for?"
"Well I just looked cause everybody else looked" Elena said with a shrug which made both Dana and I smack our lips
"I see y'all. Y'all cute ma"
"I know we are" she boasted and I scoffed
"And you wonder where we get our attitudes from"
She started laughing and once it died down she started talking again "but all jokes aside, I really do like him"
"I can tell. And I'm glad he keeps a smile on your face" I told her and she started smiling. Derek walked back over to the table and once he sat down he whispered something into my momma's ear. Her eyebrow immediately went up. They quietly exchanged words and I guess once their conversation was over they both went back to eating. Before I continued eating, I checked the time on my phone being that Kentrell always calls me around four o'clock and it was now three fifty five
"You waiting on that phone call huh?" Elena asked and I nodded
"You know it. The minute that number flash across my screen ima answer it"
"Now what if he don't call you?" Dana asked with a laugh and I frowned up my face
"He'll get a nice curse out too. Kentrell know not to play. If ion get that phone call at four ima-"
"You gone do what?" I could hear kentrell's voice ask as a pair of hands touched me, nearly giving me a heart attack. I quickly jumped up and turned around to face him and my heart started racing
"Trell, Baby!" I yelled out and hugged him, causing everybody to look at us but I didn't care. Kentrell wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me back while laughing
"I'm about to cry" I told him with my face buried into his shirt
"You better not" he replied while smacking his lips but I couldn't help it. The tears started building up in my eyes already and soon one fell. I continued to hug onto him tight, not wanting to let go of him no time soon
"I'm so glad you're home"
"I'm glad to be back home" Kentrell told me as he kissed my forehead and I pulled my face out of his shirt, kissing him.
I was beyond estatic right now. Knowing Kentrell was home now lifted so much weight off of my shoulders and I just knew everything was gonna be perfect from here on out.
