Chapter 20 Disaster

This is going to be based off the fire. I don't know how evacuation stuff works so bear with me.

Your P.O.V.
I was unpacking in my new room. There was a knock on my door I looked over my shoulder. Ryland was standing at the door holding my favorite snack,"Hey love I got you some snacks." He says while gesturing to the snack in his hand. I slightly smile,"Thanks." I reply and go back to going through my boxes. Ryland sighed I heard him walking behind me. Then his footsteps stop and I look to my side and saw Ryland sitting next to me on the floor. He takes in a breath,"I know your upset...but there's nothing we can do...and I'm sorry..."He said while getting up and leaving the room. I sighed and turned back to the boxes. Why did we have to leave? This sucks. I hate it here! I angrily stand up and shut my door and kick the closest box next to me. I drop to the ground and just blankly stare at the floor. Angry tears fill my vision. Call me dramatic or whatever you want. But how would you feel if you had to leave a place that made you feel safe. That place was a part of me and I don't think my family understands me. They just pity me.
Shane's P.O.V.
Ryland came downstairs with an upset look. I frowned slightly,"What happened?" I asked.
"She's pretty pissed." He let's out a sigh of frustration. I shook my head not knowing exactly what to do,"What should we do?" I ask.
"We should just let her have some space honestly. If we continue to bother her it'll only make her more mad." He says I nod.
"I guess your right." I agree.
"Wheres little Kat?" He asks looking around.
"She's outside with the dogs and Morgan." I reply he nods and walks into the kitchen. I follow him. We only had a few things in the house. Ryland has been making homemade stuff more. I watched Ryland taking out a loaf of bread and a jar of jelly,"You going to make lunch for everyone?" I ask he nods I heard the door slam shut. I look over my shoulder and see Morgan holding Kat in her arms Kat was crying,"Oh my God what happened?!" Ryland gasped running over to Morgan and Kat. Kat held out her arms for him Ryland took her into his arms,"She fell and her knee is hurt. It's cut up pretty bad."Morgan says Ryland gently examines Kats knee,"Come on Sweetie lets get your leg cleaned up."Ryland coos while walking away with Kat my phone went off. I looked at my phone it was a message from my mom.
Mom: Hey Sweetie just wanted to see if your okay. There's a fire close by I had to evacuate. I don't know how bad it's going to get.
You: Hey mom we're fine. Are you okay?
Mom:Yes I am. I'm at a safe place right now.
You:okay that's good.
"Have you heard about any sort of fire?" I asked turning to Morgan she looked at me confused obviously not knowing about a fire,"No why?" She asked.
"My mom texted me saying she had to evacuate from her house." I reply Morgan slightly gasped,"Oh my gosh. Is she okay?" She asked
"Yeah she's fine. She said she's safe." I say I heard Ryland come back downstairs with Kat. Ryland seemed to notice the way my attitude changed he looked at me confused and put Kat down. She ran to Morgan and grabbed her hand and took her somewhere in the house,"What's wrong Shane?"Ryland asked
"There's a fire and my mom had to evacuate I'm going to ch-" my sentence was cut off by the doorbell ringing. I walked to the front door and opened it there was an officer,"Hi I just wanted to let you know that your going to have to evacuate as soon as possible. There's a fire heading down here quickly. So I suggest packing your things." He says I smile and nod,"Thank you." I respond he nods and walks off. I close the front door and head into the living. Morgan had Kat sit on her lap as her and Ryland sat on the couch. Ryland looked over at me with a curious look,"What happened?" Ryland asked I gave him a nervous look,"We have to evacuate." I said Ryland looked at me shocked Morgan slightly gasped,"You guys can hang out at my house until everything gets better."Morgan says.
"I don't know if there'll be room for all of us." I said she smiles.
"There will be don't worry. We'll figure it out. For right now you guys should pack your stuff up again." She says I smile,"Thank you Morgan." I thanked her and walked up stairs to (y/n)'s room. There was music blaring on the other side of the room. I knew if I knocked she wouldn't hear me. I opened the door and saw her looking through her things. She didn't notice I was there so I yelled her name she looked over at me and turned off her music,"What?" She asked angrily I felt myself already getting agitated with her attitude,"Get some spare clothes and other necessities needed. We have to evacuate."
