THE LOWER MANHATTAN HOSPITAL was incredibly busy, and nobody took into account that it was midnight on New Years Day. There were drunk limp bodies crowding the emergency room, but Heath was determined to find his baby.

Jogging around the crowd of people Heath made it to the nurse at the check in window, "I'm here to see my daughter? Could you tell me the room she's in? It's Matilda Ledger."

"Straight through the doors," she waved him off. Ignoring her attitude, Heath turned around to grab Lennon's hand so she could keep up with him.

They made it to another check in desk where a nicer woman told them Matilda's room. Briskly walking down multiple hallways, they finally made it to a room with a closed curtain.

Lennon dropped Heath's hand instinctively and he turned to look at her, but before he could say anything the curtain was pulled back and Michelle was standing with her arms crossed.

She looked between her ex and ex costar, rolling her eyes. "She has an ear infection, and a fever."

Heath ignored the blonde, rushing to Matilda's bedside where she was tucked into the blankets. She was half asleep, but her eyes lit up as soon as she saw her daddy.

"Dad-da," she rose her arms up, an action that she always did when she wanted Heath to lift her up.

"Hi angel," he picked her up and held his hand to the back of her head. Her hair was pulled back into two small buns, and she was clothed in her Winnie the Pooh pajamas that Heath's sister bought her.

"Have they given her anything?" Heath finally moved his eyes from Matilda and over to Michelle who was typing away on her phone.

"That's what were waiting for. She might need a s-h-o-t." She spelled out the word as if it would somehow trigger their baby to cry.

"Oh, alright," he sat on the edge of the bed, cradling Matilda as if she was a newborn again.

"Lennon, come 'ere," Heath pushed over so the brunette could sit besides him. She gave an awkward look between him and Michelle, but Michelle kept her mouth closed.

"This, is the beautiful Matilda Rose Ledger." Turning her small body, Matilda hid her face in Heath's neck not used to the new face.

"Hi, Matilda," Lennon stroked the little girls back earning a soft giggle from her.

It was scary how similar she looked to Heath. They had the same eyes, the same nose, the same facial structure. Lennon found herself staring at the two analyzing the similarities and differences for several minutes. She couldn't believe she was in the situation she was in, but at least the little girl was there to ease the tension.

"How king have you been her?" Heath spoke up. He stared at Michelle who shrugged her shoulders.

"Maybe about an hour. She was throwing up and having trouble eating for a little while, and then when I went to check on her her head was extremely hot. They said it's not a big deal," she answered.
