OOF!!
Also, my trigger warnings are warnings whenever blood, et cetera is mentioned. Just to make it clear.

Previously:Mari heard the silent agreement between the two and internally braced herself for what was about to happen.

The Next Day (still with Mari)Marinette tried hiding her limp as she headed to school. She had put on darker clothing than her usual as to not draw suspicion in case her wounds were to start bleeding again.
(A/N: trigger warning)
When she had gotten home, her parents had beat the living hell out of her. She had hidden a bruise quite well with makeup on her jaw and wore tight wrappings around her abdomen to keep her fractured ribs in place. Her limp was caused by a sprained tibia in her left leg.
And, as a "bonus", her parents had taken a knife and nicked her shoulder with it. Not too deep and not too shallow. The worst part about everything was the fact that Marinette had left Tikki home by accident.
She had tried to sneak Tikki a cookie, but in the end, she had been caught, got kicked more times in the abdomen, with the end result of her parents calling her fat.
(A/N: end of trigger warning)
"Marinette!"
Marinette looked up from her thoughts and saw Alya waiting for her at the front steps of the school. Seeing as she is early and not late like per normal, Alya rushed away from her conversing with Adrien and Nino to see what was wrong. She knew when Mari was early that it meant Mari wanted to get as far away from her parents as possible.
Adrien and Nino had followed her, looking towards Mari who wore a blank expression on her face, different than her normal cheerful one. The two boys exchanged concerned glances, then turned back to the two girls.
"What did they do, Mari?" Alya whispered, quiet to the point where only she and Mari could hear.
"Not now, Alya. Maybe later," Mari whispered back.
Alya nodded in understanding, then turned back to the two boys, seeing their concerned faces. "Why are you two staring? Let's get to class before the bell-" Alya got cut off by the bell.
*RING*
"Oh, shoot!" Alya shouted. "I do not want to be late to class, again," she said tersely.
She gently albeit abruptly grabbed Mari and Nino by the arms and pulled them to class, Nino dragging Adrien along. The four friends entered Miss Bustier's classroom and took their seats, then saw the she-devil herself strut her way over with her poor, innocent slave, Sabrina.
"Ugh. Maritrash, why are you back? You should be crying like the baby you are somewhere else," Chloe scoffed.
Mari started at Chloe with a blank expression, for once not feeling anything towards the insults she is getting. But if Chloe mentions her parents...
"And what would your poor excuses for parents say? They'd probably abandon you on the streets like the hobo you are," Chloe sneered.
Marinette's breath hitched and her eyes widened. She heard Alya growl loudly at the blonde but paid no mind to it. Her childhood ran through her mind, making her eyes water. She knew what Chloe had said about her parents was true, and found that she could not deny what her "poor excuses for parents" would actually do to her. It was just a matter of time...
