Spider-Man: Back to the Spider-Verse

Chapter 5: Journey Begins

After Miles and Gwen were sucked into the strange portal that opened above them. They started to travel through some kind of space in which where a lot of different dimensions that where connected with a spider web. Then after some time of traveling thru space, Miles and Gwen landed in another portal that send them to another dimension. They landed in the times square of New York but not in their New York. Gwen gracefully landed on the top of the building because of her skills of ballerina. And Miles landed on his back. When he stood up. He looked at the billboard that was on another top of the building and was shocked. He was standing there for about a minute until the Gwen came to him and asked. "Are you ok Miles?" "Um, I think so." He said without even looking at Gwen. He was focused on the billboard. "What are you looking at?" Gwen asked Miles and then looked at the billboard on which Miles was staring for the whole time. And then she didn't know what to say same as Miles. Billboard had a picture of Miles and Gwen in wedding suits. Then Gwen sat on the side of the building and didn't know what to say. "Gwen, are you alright?" Miles asked and sat next to her. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. It's just... for how long do you think we stuck in this dimension?" Gwen said. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe for a few hours, maybe for a few days. I'm pretty sure we can find a way to travel back to our dimensions." Miles answered trying to make Gwen feel better. "And what if not, what if we would not be able to find a way back to our dimensions? What if we stuck here for an entire life." Gwen said and started to cry. "Gwen, look at me." Miles said trying to focus Gwen's attention. "You are Gwen Stacy, the smartest girl I ever met and I'm sure that you can find a way to go back to your dimension." He continued. Gwen looked at him and thought to herself "Miles really cares about me as no one has. I know he too scared to stay in this dimension and die, but he tries to make me feel better. Maybe I even could have feelings for him, who knows.." "Yeah you right Miles, we can find the way to travel back. Thank you for your support." Gwen said and hugged Miles. Miles hugged her back. Then Gwen and Miles stomach started to rumble. "It looks like we need something to eat." Gwen said and pulled away from a hug. "Yeah, it looks like it." Miles replied. "Then let's go find a place to eat." Gwen replied with a smile and shot a wed from her web-shooters to the nearest building and jumped from a building she was standing on. Miles looked how Gwen was jumping from building to building. And then he too jumped from a building, shot a web to the nearest building and started to follow Gwen. 

They didn't want to put their masks on so they won't look like the married couple from this dimension. After some time of swinging thru the New York streets. They landed on some building to catch their breath. When they looked up, they saw the fast food restaurant that was caleed "Burger Queen". There was something familiar in that name that Miles and Gwen focused attention on. But then Miles said. "It looks like a good place to stop." "Yeah, I think it is." Gwen replied. And both of them jumped from the top of the building and landed in front of the restaurant. When they walked in, they saw a huge line in front of them. "It looks like we stuck here for a long time." Miles replied and then thought to himself. "I hope the value of the food in this dimension is the same to my dimension." When it was Miles's and Gwen's turn to order. Miles said. "Can I have a burger and maybe a soda." Then the customer looked at Gwen and asked her. "Anything for you miss?" "I would have the same as my friend." Gwen replied to the customer with a smile. "Ok, so this would be $16." Miles took a money from his pocket and handed it to the customer. "Thank you, your order would be ready in a few minutes." Customer said. "Thanks." Miles said. And Gwen and Miles step out of the line and was standing and waiting for their food. When the food was ready, Miles took the bag and him and Gwen went out of the fast-food restaurant.

After some time, they were already sitting on top of a building, eating their food. Each one of them tried to eat their hamburgers as polite as they could so they won't look like pigs in each other eyes. When each one of them finished eating their burger and drinking their soda. Miles said. "I have to admit, burgers in this dimension is better." "I think so too." Gwen replied. And then both of them started to laugh. "You know Gwen,I think this weekend was the best in the past few weeks." Miles said and smiled at Gwen. "Same." Gwen replied and smiled back at Miles. Next few hours passed by very quickly, Gwen and Miles were sitting on top of the building, looking at a beautiful New York and talking to each other about different stuff. After a few minutes Gwen was already falling a sleep, so she lay down and fell asleep. Miles looked at Gwen, he saw she trembled because of the cold weather. So Miles took his jacket off, and put it on Gwen. But then, after about 30 minutes, Miles started to feel again very, very bad. Atoms in his body started to glitch again, so he didn't know what to do. He didn't want Gwen to wake up, so he tried to make less noise. But glitching made such a loud noise that Gwen woke up and saw Miles that couldn't stop glitching. "Miles, are you ok?" She asked him. "I don't think so." Miles replied and started to glitch even more. Then Gwen stood up as fast as she can and walked to Miles. Glitching became higher and higher and it looked like Miles was about to pass out. "Miles, please, stay with me!" Gwen said almost crying. And then again a dimension portal opened above them and sucked them in. To be continued...
