Chapter 18: First Day at Oscorp.

After hour and a half that went by pretty quickly for both Gwen and Miles. The classes were about to start so Miles put on his backpack and went out of his dorm to the first class which was Physics. When Miles arrived to the class, the door was locked and there was a sign on it that said. "First period class go to the main entrance to the Academy." Miles read the sign and went towards the main entrance. While he was walking he was thinking about what did his teacher had in mind. When he arrived to the main entrance he saw all his class standing in front of the teacher. "Morales! There you are. Come here quickly." Teacher said and Miles walked towards the group and stopped near Gwen. "Ok class. Today we would go for a trip to Oscorp for 2 days. Which means you would skip your next classes and would spend this Saturday at Oscorp. And don't worry, your teachers know about it so you won't be marked absent. And we did let know your parents too that you would be out on saturday so they won't worry." Teacher said to everyone. And then some people in a class started to fill with happiness because some of them had a test next few classes and they were not ready for it so now when they would not be at the class they would not get a bad grade. "And also, say thanks to Gary who did help organize this trip." Teacher continued. Everyone thanked Gary and Rachel that was standing near him was so proud that she was his girlfriend, so she was just standing there and hugging Gary in front of everyone like they were a married couple. That made some students uncomfortable, including Gwen and Miles. "In a few minutes the bus will arive and we will drive to Oscorp." Teacher said and turned away to call a bus driver to ask where he was. Because he should have arrived 15 minutes ago.

While teacher was trying to figure out where the driver was, students started to talk to each other friends. Mostly everyone was talking about how fun it would be spending time in Oscorp, except Miles and Gwen. They were just standing far away from each other like they didn't know each other. Then in a few minutes the teacher called everyone in a circle and said. "The driver is here. So now everyone get into a staright line and walk out of the academy and then in a bus. So I can count everyone and make sure we didn't forgot anybody. If you would not obey you would be left at the academy and would go to your next classes." Teacher said and everyone like soldiers walked out of the academy and walked in a bus and found a seat. Miles and Gwen did ended up sitting near each other but in different rows. Like in a bus when Peter, Miles and Gwen did drive to Queens after fighting Doc. Ock. When teacher finished counting everybody, she sat down on her seat and said to a driver that he could go now. Driver put his foot on a gas pedal and the bus started to drive towards Oscorp.

It was a 30 minute ride. So Miles pulled out his Sony headphones, put them on and turned on his favorite song "Sunflower." Gwen also did put on her blue headphones and turned on the music of her band from her dimension. She was hoping that maybe one day Miles could have go to her concert and listen to her playing on drums. But she was not sure if that would happen. So she was just listening to a music. In a 30 minutes bus arrived at the Oscorp and everyone walked out of the bus and were so excited. They never did stand that close to Oscorp Tower. Then everyone did raised their heads and looked how tall the tower was. It looked even taller when you was standing near it. Then Gary walked pass everyone and stood in front of all the students. "Welcome to the Oscorp." He said and parted his hands like he was standing on the Titanic. At that time, Gwen and Miles both thought. "Who does he think he is?" Then Miles did raised his hand and asked. "Who do you think you are?" "Oops. Sorry, I forgot to mention. I'm kind of a boss of Oscorp." Gary said with a smile. And after that phrase everybody's eyes went wide and the mouth's did opened, including Rachel. A few weeks passed by when Rachel and Gary did met and they had some rommance between them. But Gary didn't talled her about Oscorp. Which is kind of weird. "Now come on in. There is a lot of stuff need to be shown." Gary said and then turned around and walked to the entrance of Oscorp. First everyone was checked by a security guard and needed to come thru a metal detector like in an airport. After everyone was checked which took about 30 minutes. Gary continued to talk about Oscorp but some of the students were already bored because they didn't liked waiting 30 minutes for everyone to be checked by the security. But then Gary started to show different labs in Oscorp in which hundreds of scientists are trying to create some new things and test them and then bring it into the world. Some students did liked this kind of idea and other's not. And that was mostly because they didn't want to risk their lives on testing some different chemicals that could be not safe. Then Gary showed a lab in which scientists were trying to create Spider Venom that would cure people from diseases that are uncured such as cancer for example. This kind of thing did caught Gwen's and Miles's attention. "In this lab we are trying to create a Spider Venom that would cure diseases. We are taking a venom from different spiders and then testing them on animals. Such as rabbits for example. Show them." Gary said. Then one of the scientists did took a syringe with venom in it and did inject it into a small, white, cuttest rabbit. After a few seconds something started to happen to rabbit and then nerves started to appear on rabbits body and then it just died. That made some of the girls in a class turn around and spill some tears, including Gwen. She saw a lot of different and crazy stuff but it was hard for her to see a cute animal die. "I guess this venom is not good." Gary said with disapointment. "Test another one." He continued. And then Miles said. "It won't work." Then everyone turned around and looked at him. "Excuse me?" Gary said. "I'm saying it won't work. All those spiders that you have are deadly and none of them would cure a disease." Miles said. "They have a different DNA so they would not be able to get along with any animal's or person's body." Gwen continued. "I guess you know a lot about spiders. Come into my office after the presentation. I wanna talk to you two." Gary said and then continued to talk about other labs. Gwen and Miles looked at each other and then continued listening to Gary.
