Spider-Man: Back to the Spider-Verse

Chapter 30: That's how the cards turned.

"MOM!!! DAD!!!"
Miles shouted after seeing his parents tied to the chair. They were covered in wounds, scars. They were tortured by Scorpion and Rino. Miles tried to punch his way out of the hands of the villains and to save his parents, but because of scared, how tortured Miles also was, he didn't had enough power on his hands to punch his way through two tough super villains that were ready for every possible outcome.
"M...M...Miles?! Is, is, is that you?"
Both parents said mostly at the same time looking at Miles that was all beaten nearly to death in his suit.
"Shut up both of you! Or you will regret it, if you say one more word." Scorpion shouted slowly approaching Miles's parents. In his eyes, it was seen that he was not joking. But in the eyes of parents, it was seen that they want revenge, and that they will get out of here and make those villains pay for what they did to them, their son and the whole city. But they were scared so didn't want to say anything at that moment.

Rino threw Miles on the floor and put on him a collar from their dimension, that collar supposed to hold villains in place and make severe damage to them if they will do something out of their order. Miles tried to get rid of it using almost all his strength but couldn't. "It's made out of a special metal idiot, it is impossible to break it in half. So now, when you are still alive go over there and help us with the collider." Scorpion said to Miles pointing the finger to the broken collider and everything that was surrounding it. "What?! Do you think I will go and help you rebuild this machine?! NEVER!" Miles shouted getting face to face with Scorpion, standing up from the floor. At the same time Scorpion again pierced Miles's shoulder with his tail and very calmly said "If you don't want to die and all your family also, you would want to help us. Understood?" "Understood!" Miles answered in a very angry manner to him. "Very nice, so now, go out there and help rebuild this thing while we will make your city suffer for a little more." Scorpion again answered and with the Rino ran down the sewer into the streets of New York City, while Miles slowly went to the controll panel to re-build the collider hoping that the plan of super villains won't work and he will be able to stop them.

At the same time in Miles's apartment:

"We should do something Gwen!" Charlotte shouted while walking around the sofa where Gwen was sitting and trying to figure out the plan. "I know that we should but we need a plan! We can't just get out there and hope that spiders will fall out of the sky and save everyone!" Gwen also shouted at Charlotte. "And how long do you keep on thinking about a plan? A day? Maybe two? Or, maybe a week? You know, maybe in this dimension he is not my dad but for me he is one!" Charlotte already almolst screaming replied to Gwen. Then, Gwen jumped up from the sofa and looked straight at Charlotte with tears in her eyes. "You know, Charlotte, maybe in this dimension Miles still is not a husband to me. But I love him like he is one. And you will never understand what is this feeling, and his parents, love me same as him and I'm very grateful for this, in my dimension, I have only a father, that only works and I see him only in my photos. And now I don't know where all of them are. And, I'm just lost!" Gwen screamed at Charlotte having tears running down her cheeks. Then the whole apartment was silent for a few minutes and only the TV was on with the News broadcast.
"Two villains that later this day attacked hospitals and police departments are going towards city. Who will stop them now when there is no Spider Man and no police?" News Broadcaster said over in television.
"We need to stop them!" Charlotte shouted.
"And we will!" Gwen with anger in her eyes replied.

While Scorpion and Rino were destroying the city, Miles trying to do something to make collider start working but have a positive effect.
"You know you can take off the mask Miles... we already know everything about you." His father was saying it with anger tone. "I'm more comfortable in the mask." Miles answered not taking his eyes out of the nearly working computer. "This computed is a lot worse then that computer from that crazy woman octopus." Miles had thought like that going through his head while rebuilding the collider.
"OH, I understand why, it makes you coool!" His dad again said with the anger tone.
"It's not that, it's different." Miles quietly answered still working on the collider but with already even worse feeling.
"OH, different. SURE! GO DO YOUR THING WHILE CITY IS DYING! YOU ALL SPIDER'S ARE THE SAME! CARE ONLY ABOUT YOURSELF!" Miles's dad already started screaming with a huge hate for Spider-man's and a disappointment in his son. "Jeff stop it." Rio quietly said to him to not make anything go wrong. "Why should I stop, when he is terrorizing th..." Jeff started to say but then Miles had enough of it and screamed at his father approaching him. "Enough! Peter Parker on this earth, sacrificed his life just to save this city and the universe. Peter Parker from the other earth was ready to sacrifice his life to do the same thing. And a lot more other of my Spider friends were ready to do the same such as me! And you still hate them! For what!? That they are not wearing a badge on their chest, a police hat, don't have the word "'cop'" in their name and don't have a police car?! Let's just name all Spider-man's, Spider Cop. Give them cars, pistols and a badge on the chest. While your police has 100's of people looking out. We are all alone out there. So stop it and let me continue and not get us killed. And you know what!? Last time I took off the mask I got my uncle killed." Miles answered and went back on re-building the machine making his dad sit out there on the chair as quiet as possible.
