Spider-Man: Back to the Spider-Verse

Chapter 17: It's getting even worse.

Next morning Gwen and Miles both woke up at the same time in their own dorms with sad faces. Gwen's eyes were all red because of how much she cried yesterday. Last time she cried that hard was when Peter from her dimension died. Then after Gwen did wiped out her tears, she unpluged her phone from the charger and looked at the time. It was about hour and a half left before the school would start. So Gwen put her phone near her and reached for her backpack. She couldn't reach it from the second floor so she shot a web from a web-shooter that was on her wrists mostly the whole time and pulled the backpack to herself. When she opened she was hoping to find a book she could read that she always is carrying in her backpack that she really liked. Book was mostly about adventures of a teenage girl that looked like Gwen, that's why Gwen liked this book because she found a lot of similarities between her and a girl from a book. But while Gwen was looking for her book in her backpack, she founded a present that was neatly wrapped and had a bow on top and that she was going to give Miles for his birthday but couldn't because of a coma and now she doesn't know when to give it or should she even give it to him because of kind of situation they are right now. The present was a picture of Miles and Gwen that was taken at the bus when Miles, Peter and Gwen did returned from a Doc. Ock. fight. Gwen thought that it would be nice if Miles would have a picture of her and him in his room. Then Gwen did pulled a picture near her and hugged it hoping everyhting would be back to normal and that Miles would forgive her.

Meanwhile, Miles was also awake and was laying in his bed looking at the ceiling. He wanted to talk to someone about what happened but Ganke was not here and Miles didn't know to who he could talk to. Then he remembered that he could call Peter and talk to him. So he reached for his phone, found Peter's phone number in a special app that Miguel did downloaded them so they could communicate from their phones while being in different dimensions and Time Faced Peter. It took about a minute to wait while Peter could pick up his phone. "Hey Miles." Peter said with yawning. "Hey Peter. Did I woke you up?" Miles said. "Um, yeah, kind of." Peter replied. "Oh, sorry..." Miles said. "So, did something happened?" Peter asked. He knew that Miles would not probably call him at about 6 in the morning just to ask how he was doing and that if Miles is doing it then probably something did happen. "Well, Me and Gwen, we are ..." Miles started to say but before he could finish. Peter did interrupt him. "Did you kiss?!" Peter said, he was getting so happy because he saw how they looked at each other and all of the other stuff that people who like each other are doing. "No! We are no more friends. And I just needed to say it to someone." Miles said before Peter would get even more ideas in his mind what could happen to the two of them. "Oh. Why? I mean you were such a good friends." Peter asked. Now Peter was not that happy/ "Yeah, I too thought we were such a good friends. But yesterday when I came to school, I heared how Gwen did tell her friends that we are not even friends and never were." Miles said with a sad face. "Wait, wait, wait. Did you heard the whole their conversation or just one phrase?" Peter asked. "Only the one phrase that Gwen did say." Miles replied. "Well, did you thought that maybe Gwen just was kind of protecting so she would not be the girl who everyone would talk about in school. And I'm pretty sure that you would probably would done the same if you would be in her's situation." Peter said. That was a pretty strong argument. "Well, I guess you are right." Miles said. "So now go and become again friends with Gwen." Peter said. "Ok. Bye." Miles said and ended a call. After he talked to Peter, it kind of making him feel better and everything started to kind of make sense. So Miles jumped out of his bed and changed to his school clothes. Then he opened the door and walked out of his dorm and started to move towards Gwen's dorm. 

When he was mostly near Gwen's dorm he saw a guy walking out of Gwen's room and then kissing Gwen into a cheek. That made Miles stop and forgot about everything that he and Peter was talking about a few minutes ago. One voice in Miles's head did tell him that maybe it was just a friend or maybe some relative. And other voice did tell Miles that Gwen did already found another guy and that Miles should turn around and walk away. And Miles did listened to the second voice and turned around and walked back towards his dorm. It was very stupid for him to do that but at that moment his brains was not working he was contolled by anger and emotions. So when he did arrived back to his dorm, he took a pillow, put it on his face and started to scream. Then he looked at his notebook with all of the drawings that included also Gwen and him. He took it and throwed it away out of the window. Now the notebook didn't came back to him like boomerang and just fell somewhere on the streets. And that was it, Miles thought, there is no way that Gwen could become the friends with him again. And there is nothing that could be changed. Not anymore.
