Place

Over and over announcing your place.
They take away the privilege of knowing something greater
than the words they've sewn so deep it's become a part of you.
In dark corners where the shadows hide you from the torments
you've learned your place.

Voiceless and broken, you seek for some form of consolation.
Yet it is only temporary.
Yet the pain that manages to push through your barriers again
tears at your heart and mind,
until you want to end it.
You've learned your place and insignificance to everyone else,
so why not end it?

Because look at you now, without anyone to hold you down,
you found out your destiny is not on the ground where they put you,
it's among the stars in the sky, and you're climbing the latter to success-
even while they try to put you in a place
That you don't belong.
