I wish you would hold me
The way you used to hold me
When the nights were young
And the sheets were freshly clean
When we were so naive
New like springI wish you would caress me
The way you used to caress me
When my cheek fit your palm
And your arm hugged my shoulders
When we were so in love
Deep like the seaI wish you would kiss me
The way you used to kiss me
When you spot a cloud
And talked endlessly about kissing me under it
Whenever the rain soaks us
Desperate like the desertI wish you would touch me
The way you used to touch me
When I would sneak out to see you
And spend hours tangled together in the sheets
When thick summer air clung to us
Vibing to sounds on the streetsI wish you would love me
The way you used to love me
When you couldn't draw your eyes away
And missed the best sunset the horizon could offer
When cool ocean air chilled our faces
As our breath blended in perfectly
With all of the smoke
Leaving our lungs
