Ch.31

Ashelyonna's POV

I got home with Stefan and plopped down on the sofa. The soft cushions embraced me, and I allowed my body to sink into their heavenly comfort.

Stefan mentioned he had to take care of something, so I let him be and closed my eyes, letting the silence wash over me.

It's been a while since I've studied, I thought to myself, suddenly aware of how lazy I'd become. I kicked off my shoes and laid back, letting the day's events replay in my mind.

Grunting at the realization of something I had forgotten, I slapped my forehead—Chloe! I had completely overlooked how distressed she was earlier.

I didn't have her number or any way to contact her—not even an email.

Pfff, like anyone checks their email nowadays, a voice in my head laughed.

Just then, Stefan came over, lifted my legs, and rested them in his lap. I hadn't looked at him yet, but I felt his gentle caress on my thighs, sending warmth through me.

Snapping his fingers, my outfit magically transformed into cozy high knee socks and a cute cotton sweater. I looked down at myself and giggled at his choice of clothing.

Shaking my head playfully, I moved over to straddle his hips. A smile crept onto my face as I pulled my hair out of its ponytail and leaned in to kiss him.

But I paused mid-way, noticing something red on the corner of his mouth. Curiosity piqued, I used my pinky to wipe it off, holding it up to show him just how messy he was.

Chuckling, he took my finger and playfully licked it clean, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I shook my head at him, a mix of amusement and disbelief, and he suddenly grabbed me, pulling me close.

I giggled as he started to tickle me. "Stefan, wait! I wasn—!" I laughed, desperately trying to catch my breath.

"Stef—!!" My laughter echoed through the room, filling the space with warmth and joy.

Eventually, he stopped, and I looked into his eyes, a whirlwind of emotions swirling between us. Without warning, he leaned in and kissed me softly.

His kisses trailed along my jawline, moving down my neck, and I closed my eyes, savoring the moment. I ran my fingers through his thick black hair, feeling completely at ease.

"Mhmmm, Stefan," I murmured, feeling a spark of connection between us.

Everything felt perfect, a beautiful blend of affection and warmth. I lost myself in the moment, surrendering to the comforting bond we shared

"Stefan, can I ask you something?" I questioned, absentmindedly playing with a strand of his hair.

"You just did, hun," he snickered, and I couldn't help but hit him playfully.

"You know what I mean," I replied, rolling my eyes at him.

Giving me his full attention, he sat up and looked into my eyes, rubbing my thighs tenderly. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down my spine.

"Have you ever thought of feeding from me?" I asked, tilting my head slightly as I studied his expression.

I could tell he was caught off guard by my question; his eyes widened in surprise. "Why would you ask that?" he replied, taking my hand into his grip.

"I'm just curious. Besides, you're part vampire, and I'm human. There might be things that could lead to it hap—"

"Ash, I would never hurt you, let alone feed from you." He cut me off, his tone suddenly stern as he looked deep into my eyes.

"So please, stop thinking that, little one." His words were firm, but there was an underlying softness that made me feel safe. I gave him a look, a mix of understanding and disappointment, then shrugged it off and kissed him gently on the cheek.

I snuggled into his neck, draping a leg over his thigh as he drew circles on my leg. The comforting motion made me feel warm and cherished, and I lost myself in the moment—until my phone buzzed, interrupting the tranquility.

Looking at the screen, my heart sank. It was a text from Chadwayne.

My brother? I thought, anxiety creeping in. What could he want?
