Lilly's pov:

I paced around the place in the forest where I was supposed to be meeting Loki, and stared up at the trees, so majestic. A few moments later I heard footsteps and spun around to face the noise; "you came," I stated.

'Of course, he came you, idiot, you were supposed to meet anyway,' I thought, seriously over regretting my choice of words.

Loki walked over to me and smiled, "Lady Lilly," he smiled, "how are you?"

"Good," I replied, "but better if you stopped calling me 'lady', I'm not of the royal family, or even a noble, I'm just me."

"Very well, Lilly," he replied, then looked at me expectantly.

'Oh, umm what do I say? I wanted to see him again, and I didn't even have a reason. Ummm,' I mentally stressed.

"I was thinking," Loki began, and I let out a small sigh of relief, "since you said you weren't of the royal family, were you ever expected to learn to fight or defend yourself?"

"Mother wants me to learn," I began, "But I never have. I have a knife, but no idea how to use it properly."

"Hmm, what about education?" He asked.

"Oh, I compleated schooling," I replied, "but not really anything higher."

"Would you like to learn to fight? To study?" He asked.

"Yes," I answered without even thinking, "but I really don't have time for it, with me having to work and all."

"You seem to have time to come to the woods every day," Loki stated.

"This time and early mornings are my only free times," I replied, then sighed, "it seems like I'm in a vicious cycle, sometimes."

Loki looked at me with pitty -  gods he had gorgeous blue eyes, "how so?" he asked.

"I work almost all day to earn enough for Mother's medication and for food. I never have enough left to put away for savings, so I can't get out," I responded.

"I'm sorry," Loki stated sincerely, "but if you are willing, I'd love to have the honour of teaching you after work, or anytime you can."

I dropped my gaze, "I don't know," I sighed.

"Please?" He asked seriously, almost desperate, "there will most likely not be another war for hundreds of years and so my skills will have no value. At least maybe I could pass on my knowledge."

"You would really teach me?" I asked, "for free? No strings attached?"

"None," he replied, "also, we could start now if you want, there's a great spot by the river a while away."

"You rush into things fast," I laughed, "but sure why not?"

He smiled and cautiously reached out his hand to take mine, I was a little confused but placed my hand in his and soon found myself struggling to follow him through the woods. I marvelled at how well he knew the forest, every tree root sticking up, every rock, he bearly even looked at he dodged them. Every now and again he warned me of obstacles and supported me as I almost tripped, and I sheepishly admitted to myself that he knew the forest far better than I did.
