Sunday came and went without excitement except Catherine took it upon herself to invite several guys back to our dorm room to have Sunday dinner. Several good looking guys entered our place but none of them captured my immediate attention. We end up watching a movie and later that same night Catherine and I were greeted by our other two roommates Tessa and Beth. Both who seemed seriously anti-social and awkward which was proven true as they cried when their parents drove away... that told me everything. But Catherine already knew what I was thinking considering just smirked in my direction as we greeted them. It was kind of comforting to know that she could also tell how different we were from them.

I haven't heard from or seen my brother and sister this yet. But I knew my sister was on a road trip with a few girlfriends coming back tomorrow and I'm sure my brother was already slammed with work. It didn't bother me considering I didn't want to see them much anyhow.

Catherine and I climbed into our beds shortly after midnight talking about our first day of college tomorrow. Unfortunately, I was stupid and signed up for courses in the morning. WORST mistake ever! My first class started at 8am, while Catherine's first class didn't start until 10am. Damn I need to learn. We soon fell asleep and even faster woke up to the sound of my alarm.

I showered, tried to apply my makeup similar to what Catherine showed me two nights ago, and curled my long brown hair in order to feel fresh and ready for my first day. I wasn't sure what to expect and of how much walking I would do on my first day, so I laced up my black converse shoes, the same dark jeans that I wore to the party, and a black V-neck tee shirt. I also threw on my favorite long necklace that had a key and music note looped through it and dangled earrings to give me luck.

Classes were definitely intimidating the first day. I would end up taking five courses- three on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while I took two classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As I was leaving my humanities course, I ran right into him. I can't believe this. It's like he knew it was me and didn't shout stop. "Wow, slow down there supersonic" he smiled as he wrapped his arm around my waist. I pulled away from his grip and laughed "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I was too busy looking my phone." "Well, all you have to do is call me instead of run into me" he says smirking. I couldn't help but blush and push the issue. "Well I don't have your number...And aren't you suppose to call me?" "Busted, I see" he says "Okay, Jenn let me take your number." I couldn't believe he remembered by name or how I was gawking at him and gave him my number.

Josh pulled out his phone and started punching in my digits. I reciprocated and entered his number into my phone. As I was about to ask him where he lived, two blondes walk up to him and started fawning all over to him. I immediately became embarrassed and walked in the other direction. I wasn't sure if he called after me since I felt like I tuned everything out but I felt again that he was staring at my ass. I have got to be making this shit up in my head.

Monday finished quickly and Tuesday arrives with a new schedule that I have to get use too. As I look to find a sit in my world religion class I immediately gasp with excitement to see Jess. She waves her hand to come join her. She stands and when I reach her and we both hug like we've been best friends for life. "I'm so excited we have a class together" she says. I can't help but respond "Me too, this is great!" Some good looking guy of course is sitting next to her and leans over "Hey Jenn, it is great to meet you!" Looking skeptical Jess blurts "Oh, yeah, Jenn this is James my boyfriend." "Oh" is all I can muster.

We have a few more minutes before class begins and we begin talking. James says he's also a sophomore and lives in the dorms due to the close location. Meanwhile, Jess talks more about her apartment and how they're looking for an additional roommate. We talk about the party and they inform me about the upcoming one hosted in sand dunes by James's buddy Landon. Jess begs "You have to come. You'll have so much fun." But before I answer a voice I recognize says "Have fun where?" I look up to see Josh standing over us and about to sit next to me. "Have fun at the sand dunes party that Landon is throwing. You're coming too, right Josh?" Jess says. I look over at her confused but she must have read my mind yet again. "Josh and James are friends. They're also friends with Landon. Josh lives at the dorms too" she whispers.

"Yeah, you should go. You'll have fun." Josh says. Thank goodness the class started before I can say anything. After what seems to be like hours, class is over and I'm relieved. I couldn't prove it but I felt that Josh kept glancing over at me during class as I studiously took notes. I hugged Jess and got her digits so we could discuss driving to the party together.

The week continued on and I sat with James, Jess, and Josh in class again on Thursday. Plenty of notes taken, but thank goodness no real homework was due since it was the first week. Friday evening came and Jess came over to my dorm to get ready. She rummaged through my closet then finally spoke up "Okay that's it, we're going shopping for new outfits tonight" she yells. We hoped in her car and drove to a nearby boutique. I began to think how grateful I was for the scholarship and grant money I received so I could use it for play and groceries. I finally had freedom to do what I wanted so I wasn't surprised by Jess's expression when she saw that I dropped more than $100 on some new items.

We went back to her apartment to get ready. I was already in love with how spacious her apartment was compared to my dorm. Her three other roommates were busy doing other things. One was studying, one was getting to go to work (fast food I presumed), and the other was watching TV. They all seemed nice but Jess didn't care enough to introduce them. We started doing our makeup in front of the large mirror of the bathroom. Again, someone else could tell I needed help with doing makeup. Jess quickly showed me a few tips and provided me with a makeover. We fixed our hair and then finished it off with lots of lip gloss. I slid another pair of dark jeans on and laced up my black converse, along with a new stylish long sleeve maroon lace shirt. Jess educated me that the dunes can get cold so I was glad to stick with a long sleeve shirt for tonight. I was impressed how good I looked and thanked Jess for helping me. Jess looks absolutely gorgeous. James better be grateful.

Her apartment door bell rang and we rushed over to it. James was standing there waiting for us to hurry up and go. To my surprise Josh was there standing against his black mustang. It was absolutely gorgeous... he was gorgeous I admitted. Jess nudged me to stop staring. We walked down the steps "Hey" I squeaked to him. "Hey back at you... You look nice" he says. "Thanks" I say sheepishly. "You can ride with me instead of the make out couple" pointing in their direction. Jess shoos me away from her and closer to him... I can take a hint that she wants to be alone with James. To my surprise, Josh opens the door for me. I climb inside and it smelled like a combination of the beach and mint. I couldn't help but scour around and immediately take notice that he had rows of old CDs on the passenger sun visor. I glanced over them and was even more surprised that they're literally all the same bands I'm obsessed with.

He climbs inside and notices me staring at the collection. "Anything you would like to listen to" he says. "No, not really" as I slump back into my seat. He starts the engine and we begin to follow Jess and James out to the dunes. My hand falls out the window and the cool breeze soothes my flushed face. We listen to the Fray as we head out to the black abyss of the sand dunes and I feel utterly at ease. Josh doesn't talk much and I'm not sure what to say... but I can't stand the silence anymore so begin to ask him question after question about really random and stupid things. "So you basically know everything about me" he says "what about you, all the same questions." Too bad for him though because I didn't have time to answer as we parked on the side of the road when I was about to begin. I unbuckled my seat belt and he grabs my hand "You're going to have answer those questions for me sometime you know." I smirk and climb out.

I walk over to Jess and James, who are already walking over to where the music is playing extremely loud. For some reason, I got incredibly nervous and I hoped Jess didn't take notice.
