"Pops, have you seen..." Max's voice faded as he saw Gidget in the room, who had luckily gotten away from Tiberius when she heard the door open. Coming up behind his brother, Duke sat down and pointed out, "Found her Max!"

"Would you buffoons quiet down?! Eagle Eye is asleep!" Pops ordered quietly but firmly as he strolled over, Myron hot on his heels. The hamster was holding a rolled up newspaper threateningly. Duke stared at it in horror. However, Max only had eyes for Gidget as he took a small step towards her. Ears pinned, Gidget bared her teeth and growled. Duke and Pops stared at her in shock while Max lowered his head. "Gidget, please... you've got to believe me... Dolly is the one lying, not me. I love you."

"Who's Dolly?" Duke asked, confuzzled.

"Oh, you didn't tell anyone else about your new girlfriend Dolly yet Max?!" Gidget snarled. Jaws dropping almost all the way to the floor, Duke and Pops slowly turned their heads to stare at Max. The Jack Russell terrier tucked his tail in between his legs as he pleaded, "She's not my girlfriend Gidget, you are. And I only knew her for one day!"

"Yet she claims that you've known her longer than that. In fact, it was long enough for you to decide to have a family with her!" Gidget barked angrily. Barely hearing the gasps from the others, she walked towards Max with stiff legs and her tail held high as she continued, "We've been together for six months! And you've been with her for six weeks!" By now, she was towering over Max. The terrier opened his mouth to say something but she interrupted, "Let me guess, you wanted nothing to do with a mixed litter! All you want are purebred puppies!" Huffing, she growled, "Well... I hope you're happy with your new family!" Without another word, Gidget left Pops' apartment, slamming the door.

Heartbroken, Max stared at the door in silence, unaware that Myron had come up behind him until he got whacked by the newspaper. Yelping, he whipped around in terror. "Well done Max..." Duke congratulated his brother sarcastically. Pops shook his head in disbelief.

Nobody noticed that Tiberius had woken up and left.
