"Hey Chloe!" Gidget announced her arrival to the gray tabby cat's apartment four afternoons later. Yowling, the feline tumbled out of her refrigerator and unsuccessfully landed on her feet. Sprawled out on the floor, Chloe huffed a reply. Trying not to burst out laughing, Gidget hopped down from the windowsill and trotted over to her friend to help her up back on her feet.

"How are you today?" Gidget asked. Thinking for a moment, Chloe muttered, "Everything is just peachy." There was a sarcastic tone in the cat's voice. Licking her paw and drawing it over one of her ears, she added on, "I'm having the best day ever."

"That's good to hear."

"I'm being sarcastic."

"Oh..."

"What do you want?" Chloe demanded, cleaning her whiskers now. Sitting down, Gidget answered, "I thought I could talk to you for a little bit about something." She shuffled her paws nervously, wondering if she should even mention what was on her mind at the moment. Most of all, she was questioning why she had gone to the tabby in the first place. In the meantime, Chloe had stopped in midlick and asked, "Wait, does this have anything to do with you and Tiberius?"

Shocked, Gidget exclaimed, "Did you read my mind or something?!" Smiling slyly, Chloe murmured, "Please, I don't need magical mind reading powers or something to know that. You've been spending a lot of time with him lately, especially since the Fourth of July."

"That was four days ago. And I still spend time with you guys," Gidget pointed out quietly.

"Yeah, I know that. But we all don't mind who you choose to spend time with. I actually prefer being left alone so I can raid someone's refrigerator when they're not looking," Chloe reassured Gidget. Resting her striped tail across the dog's shoulders, she asked, "So, what do you have in mind pal?"

"You're scaring me right now."

"Yeah, I know. Now talk."

"Well, I wanna do something for him cuz he's so nice... and sweet..." Gidget explained, her fluffy tail wagging as she thought of Tiberius. Shaking herself, she got back on track, "And he's always doing things for me. I just want to return the favor for once." Listening all the while, Chloe had a weird look on her face as she smiled mischievously. "I know what you should do..." the cat murmured quietly. Gidget somehow had a bad feeling in her gut when the tabby pulled her closer. Grabbing the dog's ear, Chloe whispered something. Releasing the canine, the feline watched as Gidget mentally went over the pros and cons of what she had just told her. At the same time, she was struggling to keep a straight face.

Tail wagging, Gidget realized that Chloe's idea was actually pretty good. A simple gesture of thanks but it would get the point across. Smiling at her feline friend, the Pomeranian expressed her gratitude, "Thank you Chloe!" She left the apartment with a spring in her step. "Did it work?" Mel's voice spoke from where he and Buddy had been hiding in a closet. Sweetpea peered down from a shelf. Smiling, Chloe replied, "Yeah, I think our plan worked well."

A split second later, Mel and Buddy ran out of the closet cheering, soon followed by Snowball and Ozone. Duke and Leonard jumped out from behind the couch while Norman burst out of an air vent. Pepe hopped out of an empty flower pot yipping and shaking with excitement. Sweetpea began chirping happily as he flew around everyone's heads.

"Quiet! Do you want her to come back and hear you?!" Chloe hissed, silencing everyone.

"Wait, what did you say earlier?!" Leonard exclaimed.
