Chapter 33 - Petals

"Wow, this place is so beautiful in summer," Gidget remarked as she and Tiberius arrived in Central Park. The two had decided to just enjoy the bright and sunny morning with a gentle stroll amongst the trees. Glancing over at the Pomeranian standing beside him, Tiberius murmured quietly, "I find it to be beautiful in all seasons." Shaking himself, he went on, "I'm gonna check for any signs of trouble." Without another word, the old hawk flew up into one of the nearby trees. Smiling as she thought how nice that was of her friend, Gidget walked around. Her fluffy tail wagged happily.

Breathing in the fresh air, Gidget sighed softly. "I just love summer," she commented, smiling as she walked through the forest. Just then, the Pomeranian was showered with a bunch of light pink flower petals. Giggling as they rained down on all over her from nose to tail, the canine tipped her head back. "I know you're up there!" Gidget called out. A moment later, Tiberius landed beside her.

"Sorry bout that. I should've watched where I was walking on that branch," Tiberius apologized, gently plucking the petals off of Gidget's face. Her tail wagging, she piped up, "It's alright, I actually liked that." She reached forward and licked his cheek. The Pomeranian could tell that the old hawk was blushing under his feathers as he shuffled his foot nervously and dipped his head bashfully. Clearing his throat, the hawk mumbled, "Let's continue on with our morning walk."

Gidget, however, had other ideas as she suddenly pounced...
