"There has to be a better way of getting up here..." Gidget panted as she climbed up the fire escape. Reaching the fifth floor, she glanced over to see Duke and a depressed looking Max. Huffing, the Pomeranian continued on her way to the rooftop, not wanting to talk to the terrier.
Arriving on the roof, Gidget sat down to catch her breath. "Why can't there be a stairlift or something? Maybe an escalator..." she mumbled, looking up at the bright blue sky above. Sighing, she trotted over to the shed. Peering inside, she found Tiberius sleeping on the ground. Opening the door quietly, the Pomeranian crept over to him.
Lowering her head so she could be eye level with her friend, Gidget was about to wake Tiberius up when she spotted something she had never noticed before. There was a tiny scar on the hawk's right eye. It was so faint that one could barely see it, even up close. But Gidget could clearly see it now. Biting her lip, she decided to ask Tiberius after she woke him up.
It was then that Gidget noticed that Tiberius was shaking.
