Yelping, Gidget practically jumped out of her skin. She hid in one of the dark corners of the shed as the lightning was followed by thunder. Shaking, she laid down and squeezed her eyes shut tightly. She covered her ears when she heard more thunder. She was so frightened that she didn't even notice that Tiberius had come over until she felt a small nudge on her shoulder. She quietly opened one eye.
Lowering his head so he was eye level with Gidget, Tiberius remarked softly, "Guess I found something you're scared of, didn't I?" He smiled quietly at her. "Come on," he called out softly, beckoning her to follow him. Gulping, Gidget did so, thinking they were going somewhere. Instead, he laid down in the doorway, his right shoulder resting against the wood. Confused, the fluffy dog hesitated before laying down on his left.
Little raindrops fell on Gidget's face, startling her. Whimpering, she backed away slightly. "Relax, it's just a little bit of rain," Tiberius whispered, his eyes closed. He seemed very calm as the rain ran down his face. Creeping back to his side, Gidget stretched her head out as it would go and shut her eyes. She flicked her ear slightly as she felt the raindrops hitting her again. However, she remained calm. In fact, she was beginning to love the feeling, causing her to smile. Sighing happily, she rested her head on Tiberius's shoulder.
Opening his eyes, Tiberius glanced down at Gidget. A slight purr rumbled in his throat as he gazed softly at her. Smiling, he closed his eyes. Gidget, meanwhile, was listening to his beating heart until she finally drifted off into a deep sleep...
