The 'big volleyball game' was cancelled.

Not that Clementine cared, she wasn't a fan of popularity and large crowds all watching her. However, she still had practise after school. Louis didn't, but he didn't mind watching her from the bleachers in the sports hall and waiting until it was over.

Clem had woken up in a bad mood, therefore stayed in a bad mood. She wore black jeans and Louis' hoodie that he had given her the previous day, but now it was tucked up into her bra making it looked like a cropped hoodie. She hadn't washed it, she wanted it to keep smelling like him.

Just before first period, Clementine slips out a side door without anyone seeing her. She sprints down across the parking lot and out of the prison-like atmosphere. With her purse in her backpack, she goes into town. More specifically, a little cafe which sold fruit smoothies. She sweetly asks for a large mango and passionfruit smoothie and goes to sit down on a little table once she pays.

Her mind wonders as she sips her drink.

This wasn't the first time she'd ever skipped school, but it was the first time at this school. She wondered what the punishment would be, or if they would even notice. She'd come back for lunch, their pizza slices were too good to miss. Then she'd go away again, then come back for volleyball practise.

Plan sorted.

Clem catches a man's eyes for a second. She acts like she hadn't seen him until he comes walking over. She mentally rolls her eyes, here we go again.

The tall man sits opposite her and smiles, "Hey, you're really pretty and I thought maybe we could-"

Clem points to her ear and makes various hand movements, finishing with an apologetic smile. The guy holds his hands up like a surrender and mutters several sorry's before leaving her alone. Clementine rolls her eyes and gets out her phone, that was a tactic she used to use a lot to get guys to leave her alone.

She looks through her messages and sees a familiar name that made her smile. Emily Hughes. They used to be best friends back at Clem's old school but the two quickly lost contact when she moved away.

She types out a simple message but decides against it. It seemed too cowardly and pathetic to text after being apart. She taps to call her instead.

Holding her phone up to her ear, it only rings a few times before she picks up.

"Oh.. Hey Clem," her voice was awkward on the other end of the phone.

"Hey, sorry if this is a bad time. You're probably in school-"

"Nah, I'm skipping. Aren't you meant to be in school too, Missy?" Clem could practically hear the smile in her voice.

"I'm skipping too," she takes a sip of her smoothie and smiles.

"Bitch I miss you! I miss skipping class with you to smoke," Emily sighs in remembrance whereas Clem shivers at the thought.

Weed was good, sure. But it got expensive.

"I miss you too. You should come here one weekend, it'd be fun to hang out just us."

"Definitely, I'll see when I'm available. Anyway.. are there any hot guys at your new school?" her voice goes high at the tip of her question.

Clem blushes, thinking of Louis.

"There are a few, yeah.."

"Any that make you want to rip off their shirts?"

Clem almost slaps her forehead with embarrassment.

Emily never had a filter, which was mostly where Clem got her personality from. She just never was quite as bold as her best friend was.
