It's been a few weeks since the incident. They managed to cover it up by saying it was a thieving criminal that stabbed Louis and that they didn't get a good look at his face because he was concealing his face. People seemed to believe them. They would've told the truth but Clementine begged Louis not to mention Mason. She knew what his friends would do if they found out she told the police. Louis caught the fear in her eyes upon the mention of it, so he decided not to.
Louis' wound healed quickly, mainly thanks to Clem's around-the-clock care. She cleaned the wound several times per day, tightened the stitches when they became loose, helped him bathe and get dressed, ran to get him food or water when he needed it and supplied him with all the kisses in the world that he destined for so badly.
He didn't enjoy seeing Clem look like his servant, it made him feel terribly bad. But he couldn't deny the worried face she pulled whenever he groaned or winced pain - was adorable. Every time he'd place a tender kiss on the tip of her nose and smile, reassuring her that he was okay.
She even skipped school for a whole week just to be with him. And the days she went to school, she was constantly on her phone texting him back and forth. The quite a few times he hurt himself when home alone, Clem left school in the middle of lunchtimes and even in classes so she could be with him.
Louis was always over the moon to see her beautiful face and angelic voice and of course he was grateful that she cared for him so much. He thought he didn't deserve to be treated like that, he wasn't worthy of that unconditional love.
Lee was concerned about her skipping school but she said her best friend really needed help recovering from an injury, and he gave in. She hadn't told her dad about Louis, not yet. She was too scared to, Louis even more so.
Clementine was the first to awake - like she normally is. She rubs her eyes lazily and attempts to sit up, failing instantly.
Her arms and legs were tangled with her boyfriend's, their bodies cuddling close together. She shuts off the alarm on her phone so it doesn't rudely awake Louis too, she preferred to pleasantly wake him up by kissing him. It was a small and simple act but it always made him giddy with love first thing in the morning.
She rolls over to face him and her mouth curls into a smile, gazing at the sight. Louis was out cold - he wouldn't wake up if the apocalypse broke out. His dreads were scattered over the pillow, some lingered on his face. She noticed his eyes slightly moving as he dreampt, his nostrils flare a tiny bit and she tries not to giggle. Their faces were so close she could feel his warm breaths on her face, jagged due to his deep sleep.
She swipes the few dangling dreads from his face and places a tender kiss on his lips.
"Louis wake up, we both have to go to school this time," she whispers.
He wanted to scream at her words, but also smile at her voice. He went with the second option. He grunts a response and tightens his arms around her. She could sense him falling back asleep so she kisses him again.
"I'm serious Louis, come on." her voice was more stern this time, she takes his arms off her and gets up. He rubs his eyes until they open narrowly.
Louis watches her as she slips out of one of his t-shirts and instead puts on a white vest top bodysuit and dark denim high-waisted jeans. She lightly coats her long eyelashes in mascara and applies some lip gloss after brushing her teeth. She left her curly hair down and crazy, though she looked stunning.
Honestly, Louis was incredibly tempted to drag her back to bed and skip another day of school.
"Louis stop staring and get up, we have to go."
