The land was peaceful as the sun began to set over it. The cool evening air brushing through trees, causing their leaves to dance. The fireflies and crickets coming out to to fill the night with light and sound. The stream flowing smoothly. The two idiots squawking at each other as they descend from the sky...
...
Wait, what?
"You're leaning too much to the left!"
"You're not leaning enough to the right!"
"Um, who's steering this thing?!"
"Us. It's a team effort, Y/N--"
The two of us yelped as our toes bumped into the tip of a large rock, which made us lose our balance and topple over so we landed with a painful thud onto the path. I groaned out and slowly sat up, rubbing my stinging arm and hissing through my teeth.
"Ow, okay new plan..." I heard Link grit from beside me "We get you a paraglider as soon as possible..."
I rolled my eyes "Great plan, Sherlock--"
"Who?"
"But how are we going to find another one so fast? From what I heard, time ain't really on our side."
"True." Link sighed, moving to tighten his hair "But do you really wanna go through that again?"
"No..."
"Well there you go then." He began striding towards the bridge nearby, which also had a shrine stationed next to it for some reason. I rose to my feet and caught up to him, dusting myself off in the process.
"Also, how can you not know Sherlock Holmes? He's like the best detective ever. He can solve a case with his eyes closed."
Link gave me a blank stare "You must be from really far away."
"Probably." I shrugged "Where I'm from, we don't have pig monsters, shrines, ghosts you can hold a conversation with, Calamity Ganons, or weirdos that take 100 year long naps."
"Hey!"
"Well, 'less of course this is a whole other world from my own."
Link and I stared at each other for a moment, before snorting at the ridiculous thought.
"Anyway," I pointed toward the orange shrine with my thumb "you gonna go do that thing before we go?"
He nodded.
"Well then, get a move on Limp noodle!!"
Link took two steps forward, before realising what I said and turning around "What did you just call me?"
"Limp noodle."
His nose scrunched up in confusion "What does that even mean?"
"In two words?"
"Sure why not."
"Legendary hero."
Link opened his mouth to retort, his mouth opening and closing with his finger pointing at me, but no words came out. After a bit, he just gave up and pivoted around to enter the shrine. I smirked, but just after he disappeared I turned to the castle that was just visible and my face fell. My facade dropped. I have to go defeat that thing, with Link. We've been getting on each other's nerves since we met. Why did he even take me with him off the Plateau? We'd probably die if we worked together. Hell, we'd probably die if we just ignored each other and fought Ganon freestyle!
Uh oh. Panic attack.
I leaned against a nearby tree, making sure to face away from the castle as I tried to even out my breathing. Hopefully that shrine would give Link a run for his money, because I did not want him to see me like this. I didn't need a reason for him to worry about me even more.
