Link and I turned to the entrance of the beast, where a terminal stood waiting for us. I held the Shiekah Slate out to the blonde as I already knew what needed to be done, which he took and pressed it against the glowing eye in the middle. For a moment nothing happened, until the circular platform not far from us began to glow, opening another travel gate for us. I guess that would prove useful, should we need to restock.

Suddenly a voice spoke to us through the Divine Beast "You're here. I must say... I am glad this day has finally arrived."

It was gentle and welcoming, which calmed me down almost instantly. For Link however, it had the opposite effect.

"M-Mipha?" He called out, looking around with desperate eyes. The voice spoke again, this time with a hint of fondness.

"Hello, Link. It has been quite some time..." she let out a small giggle "You look well."

I looked over at Link to see him with an expression full of guilt, and reached to touch his tense shoulder. His cerulean eyes met mine, and for a moment he seemed to ease up, until Mipha spoke again "Now that you're here... Ruta can be freed of Ganon's control. But first you will need a map, to prevent the two of you from getting lost. There is a guidance stone up ahead that contains the information that you will need."

Link nodded and took my wrist before entering the Beast, leading the way up the ramp until we came across something... disgusting. It was an eye of some sorts hovering above some pointy purplish gunk that blocked our path. I think that's what people would call malice... Link seemed just as disturbed as I was, as he took out his bow and quickly shot the eye once. It shrivelled up and exploded along with the rest of the malice, making me gag in disgust...

"That's nasty..."

Link agreed with a scrunched up nose, before extending an arm in front of me and nodding towards what looked like a baby guardian. His eyes narrowed when readying another arrow, locked onto his target as he let out a small whistle to get its attention. When it turned, it was immediately shot in the eye which caused it to malfunction and explode. Then we noticed the gate to our left, which was also covered in malice, but Link took care of it with ease by knocking another arrow.

But now for the hard part...

"How are we gonna get to the other side?" Link asked out loud "Is there a button?

"I don't see one..." I held my chin in thought. This place had to be well protected, which meant there had to be puzzles. But there was always a way around puzzles.

And I think I spotted this one...

"Hey, Limp noodle."

Link sighed "Seriously, you gotta stop—"

"Yeah yeah, stop nicknaming blah blah blah." The boy pouted as I moved my hand like it was talking "Focus. You know how your Slate could break ice earlier?"

"Yes?"

"Can it make ice too?"

"Yeah, all you gotta do is point it at water and— H-Hey!"

I snatched the device from his belt after hearing all I needed to, and pointed it towards the gate. On the screen I could see a blue box rising from the ground, which I assumed was where the ice block would, so carefully I moved the slate until it was under the obstacle. And just as I tapped the screen, the large cube rose from the water and pushed up the bars.

"Eureka!" I grinned, pumping my fist in the air before handing the slate back to a very dumbfounded Link. As someone who literally used it once or twice, I was really picking up the Slate's uses quickly. Quicker than him, anyway.
