Today was the day Marina had to pay off her debt. She had 900 bucks ready for Eging Jr, but it wasn't enough. The Octoling needed 600 more dollars for him, in which she didn't have. That was why she went over to Pearl's house to ask for money. She hated doing this, but if she didn't, who knows what could've happened to all her friends and family?
"600 bucks? Oh, Marina. You know you can ask for more than just that," Pearl giggled. "Uhm, no. I only need 600," Marina assured. The small Inkling raised an eyebrow. "What for? I swear to God, if you're in debt, I'll-"
"No. It's for rent," Marina interrupted. Pearl gave her a worried look and sighed. "I know your rent is more than 600, Marina. I can pay the whole price. Not to mention, my offer still stands. I'm totally fine with you living here," Pearl said. The Octoling shook her head. "It's okay, love. I don't want to depend on you too much." The couple looked at each other with worried expressions. "600 bucks, coming right up, Your Royal Highness." Marina giggled as Pearl stood up and walked into her vault. She came back with 6 one hundred dollar bills.
"Thank you, baby," Marina kissed Pearl and looked at her phone. "I start work in an hour, I best be going," she said, standing up. "Yeah, it's Prince's birthday anyway. I better go get ready for that," Pearl said. "Well, uh, bye," Marina said with a smile. She picked up her jacket and headed for the door. Pearl ran after her. "Wait!"
"Hm?" Marina was whirled around by Pearl's arm and a kiss was planted on her lips. "I love you," Pearl said with a smile. Marina kissed Pearl's forehead. "I love you too," she said with a sweet smile. Pearl blushed as Marina exited.
"Cutie."

"You had me waiting quite a while." Marina scoffed. "I'm here on time, Jr. You just arrived early," she said. "Whatever, just give me the money. It's Prince's birthday and Emperor will chew me out if I'm late." Marina threw Eging Jr a money clip. "There." He looked her up and down. "Y'know, you didn't have to get all dolled up for me, princess," he snickered. She rolled her eyes in disgust. "I'm going to work," she sneered. "Must be pretty high class. Is that a fake gardenia I see?" Marina groaned. "What happened to Prince's birthday? Bye," she said through gritted teeth and walked over to her motorcycle. "Yeah, later. Oh, and by the way," he said, turning to leave, "Nice ass." She rolled her eyes and put her helmet on. "I don't think you should be saying that when you're still dating Emeror," she said before revving her motorcycle loudly, just to piss off Eging Jr, and left.
Marina grumbled to herself the whole way to her new workplace, mainly just talking about how annoying Eging Jr was and how much she hated his guts. Then when she arrived at the fancy bar, she started grumbling about how she didn't belong. Marina found herself grumbling a lot lately and she hated that. She decided to stop the grumbling and be grateful.
The Octoling went into the manager's office of the bar. "Hello, Ida," Marina looked at the manager in awe. "Aunt Flow?" The former hat shop owner smiled a weak smile. "Mhm, that would be me," she nodded. She was definitely getting old. "Wh-Why do you work here now? What happened to the hat shop?" Flow shrugged. "No one really came in for anything anymore. And the person who founded this place was a good friend of mine so he let me work here," she explained. "Really? Who was the founder?" Marina asked. "Mr. Grizz, he wanted to try something new. But then he decided he didn't really like this job, so he went back to the Salmon Run business and left this bar to me," she replied with a sweet smile.
"I see. Well, before I start performing, is there anything you want me to do? Anything you want me dressed up in?" Marina asked. "I don't see what's wrong with how you look now," Flow smiled. "Oh, thank cod," the Octoling muttered. She smiled. "Thank you for this opportunity. When do you want me up there?" Flow looked at the clock. "Hmm... It's 8:30 now. How's 9:00 sound to you?" Flow asked. Marina nodded in agreement.
