Baggage

I packed up my feelings
Like one would for a flight
And in this rare case I lost my baggage
Along the journey
After quite some time,
It was a slow process
Getting rid of what was no longer wanted,
I hadn't realized the progress made until
I looked at you and it no longer
Ripped my heart out
Begging to be held by you
Just one more time,
Instead I stood my ground
And looked upon you as someone of the past
Who took another path
And got onto another plane
That was of no importance to me

I hope you lose your baggage too
And find the courage to no longer search for it
In hopes of reviving what has been lost
And is better left that way
