Like the roof of an old house
Barely hanging on by a thread
Aged by years of rain and neglect
You make me feel desolate
Like a gloomy rainy day
When the electricity is shot
And there's no one else home
You make me feel exasperated
About all the things I could've changed
Or might've said

You are the weathering years,
You are that sad relentless rainy day,
You are the cause of so much regret
And I can't stand to look at you
I collapse and you flock to the scene
Wondering what pieces you can claim
If any
And how long you can keep them
Before the cycle restarts
