And I'm desperate to feel
Numb in your presence,
Blissful but necessary ignoranceI don't drink,
But I got tipsy just to
Relax my nerves
And forget everything I know about you
That squeezes droplets of my heart out
Late at night
When there's no longer anyone to hold me
And tell me I'll be alrightI don't drink,
But I did

Until we were the only two that existed,
But you belonged to someone else
And I bore no chains to elicit much guiltNow I drink,
To forget tipsy mistakes we made
And the sober ones too...
Because the one thing I've learned
Is that I can never be rational around you
