Alice Jones, the head chief editor for the towns newspaper. She has plenty of help, but this one day...it seems like everyone is sick. "Mrs.Jones, We only have you and Julie on staff today." Alice's assistant shyly followed her around the small building. "This is fantastic." She sighed and soothed her hand over her still flat stomach. She has had the stress of a new baby (that nobody knows about) and now this.
"congratulations, today you will be a writer." She smiled and handed the young girl a pen and paper. "There are subjects at the top, pick two and turn them in by tomorrow." Alice sighed and left out the back door.
She needed a break, she needed her husband to move back into the house and quit this stupid break that the dumb marriage counselor suggested. "Alice...you ok?" Hermione questioned. She quickly turned around and ran to her best friend. "It's just stress." She sighed and backed away from the hug.
"You still haven't told FP?" Hermione sighed and placed a hand on Alice's stomach. "I can't. The rules say no speaking..."
"Unless it's an emergency. You have three kids already, just say you need to readjust custody this week. Then he has to talk to you." She smirked. "I need a bath." Alice whined and stomped her way back into the building. "Talk to him. I have to go, but please listen to me." She kissed her cheek and left me at my desk.
"Lets get started." Alice growled and sat down not looking away from my computer. Hours had gone by and Alice was the last one here. She shut down her computer and closed up the back. "Alice?" FP's voice rang through the nearly abandoned building.
"FP." She bit back a groan. "I heard we needed to talk." He sighed and sat down on the corner of the main desk. "Hermione never shuts up." She mumbled and looked down at FP. "How long is this going to last?" She asked wanting to run away as fast as she could.
"The break? The lady said..."
"I don't care what the lady said! I am miserable and I miss you...I miss you so much and I want to be happy." Alice yelled finally releasing her true feelings. "This will be good for us." He sighed rubbing his face in his hands.
"For you maybe, but it's hell for me, for our children...our baby." A single tear slid down her cheek. All the secrets were spilled. "Baby?" FP questioned walking over to Alice. "I'm pregnant, but you wouldn't know because you want to live without me." She growled and stormed out the door not caring about talking anymore.
She raced to the river needing to calm down for the night. She cried for hours, never did she ever imagine her life this way. She thought she would have a loving family, bunch of kids, and a husband...a husband that wanted to live with her. It was around one by the time she got home.
The kids were with FP, so she had the house to herself, she could at least sleep peacefully. The hallway light lit with candles. They were her favorite candles. She took a deep breath inhaling the scent.
On her bedside table there was a vase of daisies...those were her favorite. She could hear movement inside the bathroom. There was more candlelight and water running. "FP?" She called out suddenly aware of a possible stranger in the house.
"I was stupid. I am stupid...I should have known," He sighed caught up in his words. "What is all this?" Alice asked removing her coat. "A small I'm sorry. I was hoping you would let me come home. So we can celebrate our new baby." He smiled and held his hand out for Alice to take.
"You wont leave again?" Her voice was wavy with emotions. "Never again." He whispered and let the tear slip out if his eyes. He could not believe he had hurt her this much. He thought this was what they needed.
"I love you." She whispered and took his hand. "I love you so much more." He smiled and pulled her into his embrace. They both have longed to feel each others touch again. She tilted his head down, so she could connect their lips.
"I made you a bath, well us a bath...if you will have me." He chuckled and lead Alice over to the bath. "It's perfect." She pressed a kissed to his cheek before letting herself relax in the special made tub. "Scoot up." FP whispered and sat behind Alice. ¨Where are our kids?" she asked.
"Hermione may have been a big help tonight."
"Well remind me to fire our counselor and go to Hermione next time we have a problem." She chuckled looking back and up into his eyes.
"Anything for you my love." He kissed her cheek happy to be home...home for good.
