The snow started falling hard in Riverdale covering the roads leaving the town stuck in their own houses. Fp was going to drop Jughead off, so I could take the teens bowling. Just as he was about to leave they shut the roads down. "Well come in I'll make some coffee." I shut the door behind us and went into the kitchen. "Hey dad what are you still doing here?" Jughead asked. "Well the roads are closed, so Im stuck here." He sighed and sat down at the table. "Oh Don't act to excited now." I sarcastically smiled handing him his coffee.
"I have an idea that will be fun for everyone!" Betty perked up and ran upstairs. We all glanced at each other wondering what she is up to. She came back down with a basket full of board games. "Jones vs Coopers." Jughead blurted out going through the pile. "I don't know Betty. I'm pretty tired and.."
"Oh come on grandma have some fun." Fp teased and carried the games into the living room. "By the way its Smith not Cooper, Jughead." I yelled and grabbed our coffees joining them. Fp turned around and smiled at my comment. He definitely found that out last week while the kids were at school. "Mom can we start a fire?" Betty asked already getting it ready. "I guess go get the lighter." She quickly got the lighter from the kitchen and handed to me. I started to get up to light it, but Fp stopped me. "Here I'll do it. Don't want you getting all dirty." Fp smiled and lit the fire. I rolled my eyes and sat back down, sipping at my coffee. "What do you want to play first?" Jughead looked at all of us for an answer.
"How about cards against humanity." Betty held up the box. "That is not a team game and i'm surprised your mom let you play that game." Fp chuckled. "I'm not that crazy protective mom anymore, but that isn't a team game." I smacked Fp in the arm. "What about twister we could do like a tag team thing?" Jughead offered. "Maybe later lets play a board game first." Fp grabbed charades out of the pile. "Perfect me and jug vs you and Betty. Think your up for the challenge Smith?" Fp smirked getting the game ready.
"When am I ever not ready?" I scoffed and joined them on the floor. Jughead and Fp went first. Jughead had to act like he was ice skating. We were playing a christmas addition since it was december. "You only get three guesses." I reminded Fp. "Thank you Alice." Jughead started flailing his arms and legs around acting like he is skating. Betty laughed hysterically at Jughead. I smiled at Fp watching him trying to concentrate on Jughead. "Running!" Fp screamed.
Jughead shook his head no and continued. "Skating!" Jughead's eyes went wide. "One more." I teased Fp. He shot a glare at me and turned back to Jughead. "Ice skating?" Fp guessed quietly hoping he was right. "Yes!" Jughead jumped. "Good job you barely got by." Betty smirked. "Whatever lets see you try." Jughead stuck his tongue out at Betty. "Alright. Mom your up first." I stood up ready to see what to do. Of course I would get sitting on santa's lap. I could see Fp smirked behind the kids.
I sat in the air hoping betty would get it. "Umm searching?" betty shrugged. I heard Fp chuckle. I rolled my eyes. She was about to waist another guess, but I stuck my finger out to shush her. I thought for a minute and an idea popped in my head. I smirked at Fp as I moved to sit on his lap. Fp was wide eyed for a second, but relaxed.
"Um..sitting on a lap?" I rolled my hands in a circle to tell her she was close. "Sitting on santa's lap?"
"Yes." I pushed off of Fp's lap, "Alright I'm going to take a bathroom break." I walked into the bathroom and started laughing. I couldn't help notice Fp grab a pillow after I got off. I pulled myself back together to find Fp waiting outside the bathroom door."What was that about?" He asked. "I was just playing the game Forsythe." I smirked and moved closer towards him. "Your killing me." He smiled back and pulled me into him. I brought my lips close to his and then pulled away. "Let's get back to the game Fp." I swayed my hips and looked back at him while I walked away.
When we went back into the living room betty and Jughead had moved on to twister. "Hey we can still do teams, but face each other." Jughead said standing up from the game board. "I don't know?" Fp scratched the back of his neck. "Oh come on lighten up Jones." I teased and sat down on the couch. The kids had Fp and I go first. I know I said I supported the game, but I was a little nervous.
The first couple spins weren't bad, but things quickly changed. "Ok mom left foot blue." I put my foot on the closest blue there was. We both had our hands and feet on the board. "Ok dad this is going to be tough, but left hand red." The red was across the board and Fp would have to reach over me. I laughed thinking he wasn't going to push it. "What's so funny Smith." Fp swung his arm over me and on to the red dot. "Yes dad way to stay in it." Jughead cheered for him. Fp and I tried not to laugh at our position.
Our faces were inches apart and our bodies were aligned perfectly, so that wasn't helping his problem. "It's hot in here my hands are going to slip." Fp warned. "You better no.." And before I knew it he was laying on top of me and we were both laughing hysterically. "Was that called for." I asked still laughing. "Oh very." He smiled and brought his lips to mine. The room became very silent. After a couple seconds I remembered the kids were in the room and pushed him off. "Mom.." "Dad.." The kids were confused and surprised.
"So that just happened." Jughead laughed still not believing what he saw. "Uhh I'm sorry." I didn't know what else to say. "I'm just glad you guys finally admitted it, sortta." betty chuckled. "What?" Fp and I said together. They already knew. "Mom it was obvious. Why else would you drive to the southside and why else would mr.Jones stare at you non stop when we eat dinner at Pops. That's another thing we always eat at Pops now." Betty and Jughead laughed.
I blushed and Fp laughed. "At least there not mad." We all were soon laughing. We finished the night off with a movie and headed up to bed.
