"I want you to be careful. And make lots of good friends. And if you need anything you remember my number, right?"

"Yes, daddy!" Philip giggled while Hamilton fixed his collared shirt. His tiny freckled face was lit up with excitement as he recited the string of numbers with perfect memory.

"Good boy. Make sure you don't act up or miss the bus, okay?" Hamilton ruffled Philip's curly hair as Philip gave his daddy a toothy grin.

"Okay!" Philip hopped up and kissed Hamilton's cheek as the bus stopped in front of them. "Bye daddy!"

"Bye, have a good day at school!" Hamilton watched his son climb the steps and sit down in a seat before the bus took off. Hamilton leaned against the pole on his porch and watched the bus make another stop to let a small girl on.

"Alex?" Hamilton turned around to see Jefferson standing by the door, coffee in hand. "Did Philip just leave?"

"Yeah."

"He'll be fine," Jefferson said with a small smile, wrapping a hand around Hamilton's waist. "He's strong, just like his dad."

"He also looks just like his other dad," Hamilton muttered, putting his hand on Jefferson's.

"Babe, that's in the past, and-"

"I know, I know. I just... struggle with it sometimes." Hamilton leaned back into Jefferson's chest. "I know it's been six years since everything happened, but I can't help but worry for my baby."

"Do you need to talk about it?"

Hamilton looked up at Jefferson with a small smile. "I think I'm good."

Jefferson kissed Hamilton on the cheek and made for the door. "You coming?"

Hamilton hummed in agreement. He looked down at his stomach, which seemed to be growing bigger by the minute. It would only be a few months before Philip became a big brother. Hamilton followed Jefferson inside the house, their house, with a large grin on his face. Of all the futures he imagined, he never imagined this one, but he wouldn't trade this for he world.
