Author's note: At first I was really excited, but towards the end, it got kind of meh.  I'll let you guys read it and see what you think of it.  Also, there's a little game at the end, so stay tuned for that.

Description: Grian is freaked out after watching a horror movie with X.

Grian never knew why he disliked horror movies or anything scary for that matter, but what really mystified him was why he agreed to watch one with X. Nevertheless, there he was, sitting in a corner of the other Hermit's unfinished base with only a laptop's shining light in the dark pit. The movie itself wasn't that bad. The main plot wasn't they typical death fodder, the monsters were only shown in ominous glimpses up till the end, sound design, soundtrack, and special effects were all spot on, and the atmosphere practically oozed eariness.

Occasionally Grian would glance over at X and see him absolutely terrified yet enjoying himself immensely. Grian had tried to enjoy the movie itself, but every time he glanced into the shadows in X's base, it was near impossible not to imagine one of the monsters from the movie lurking there or the mad cultist who summoned them to this world, ready to strike. There were even points where he genuinely felt like he was being watched.

The movie ended, and X checked the time. "Goodness me, it's past midnight. We probably should be getting to bed. Night Grian."

"X, can I stay with you for the night?" he asked, "It looks really dark outside, and I don't feel safe flying in the dark."

Xisuma smirked under his helmet. "You sure it's not because you're scared some monster or something will get you while you're alone in your base?"

"I am not scared! fictional monsters from some horror movie are going to get me! I just don't want to be flying over the ocean in total darkness." Grian cried, trying to puff himself up and shaking.

"Okay," X sighed, smiling, "Follow me. Let's get you set up for the night."

Grian followed X to his storage room and watched him pull a shulker box out of an ender chest. From the shulker box, X fished out a pink cot.

"This is what I sleep on when I'm not in my base, and for some odd reason, it's much more comfortable than my bed," he said as he set up the cot next to his bed. "You'll sleep here."

Grain was skeptical of the cot's softness, but as soon as he lay down, he sunk in, enveloped by clouds and warmth even before he pulled the blanket over himself. It was almost as if the cot was daring him to have a terrible night's sleep.

"You're right X, this is comfy," he said as he pulled the blanket over himself. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight Grian." X replied as he was getting into bed.

The two slept peacefully for about an hour before a sound woke Grian up. He peered in the darkness where he heard the sound and saw a floating head near an opened chest which appeared to be searching through Xisuma's chests. Then the head phased through the wall only to root in that chest before popping out and searching a chest on the other side of the wall. Grian whimpered fearfully, not knowing the creature's intentions or what exactly it was capable of.

"What's going on? Grian you okay?" X asked groggily as he turned over to see what freaked out Grian, but the head left as he turned on the light.

"It was right there, opening your chests." Grian murmured as he calmed down.

"Right. You're probably just imagining things. Go to bed. It'll be better in the mourning."

Grian laid back down and went back to sleep only for the ghost to come back and mess with the chests again, causing Grian to wake up, panic, and wake up X, only for the head to disappear before X could get a good look at it. He finally had enough and handed Grian a night vision potion he had in his pocket.

"These were left over from the failed Wither fight. If the ghost comes back quietly nudge me awake and down the potion."

Grian put the potion in his pocket before trying to go back to sleep.

The head soon returned to rummage in the chests by X's feet, but instead of panicking, Grian nudged X before the two downed their night vision potion. Once it took effect, they saw a floating salmon head rummaging through X's chests without a real purpose. It then moved to another chest to examine the contents, almost as if it was looking for the sake of looking. Neither of them wanted to interrupt it. The creature was looking in X's chest, just appreciating all the contents. Then as it was examining one of X's shulker boxes, it found some rials X was going to use to connect his base to the rail network and ran off, dropping a pickle and leaving.

They sat up and waited to see if the creature would return, but after about an hour and there was no sign of it.

"Well that was a lot less scary than I thought." Grian said, still shaking.

"You're still freaked out aren't you?"

"I mean that ghost did turn out to be harmless," Grian said, "But.."

"You're still worked up over the movie."

Grian nodded.

X got up from his bed and moved the cot between the wall and his bed. "There," he said, "If anything wants to get you it'll have to go through me."

Grian looked at him in embarrassment. "You don't have to do this," he said.

"At this point, I'd be willing to sell my soul just so we'd be able to go back to sleep. Now get in bed."

Grian crawled into his cot and X climbed into his own bed once Grian was tucked in. He could not shake the feeling that something or someone was still watching him, but he figured he was just paranoid and he'd feel better in the morning. 'Besides,' he thought to himself, 'if something attacks us X can probably take care of it.'

He drifted off to sleep, feeling a little more confident as the eyes watching him finished up and went off to do other things with their days.

Author's note: I was an idiot and published this without mentioning the game I'm starting.  Don't facepalm too hard.  I've been told my one of my discord friends that I leave a lot of innuendoes in my stories, so let's see if we can find them.  Starting now, if you find something you think is an innuendo, post a comment saying "Is this an innuendo?", and I'll answer yes or no (most of the time it'll be a no) you can go through older works as well.  Okay, now I can post this.
