As Ted walked into the building a group of young athletic people were on their ways out. They were all dressed in full dance attire. Ted really couldn't explain why he found them intimidating but they were.
"Hi sweetie!" The intense lady behind the front desk called out. Is this what theatre does to people? Make them loud as fuck. "Professor Henry Hidgens is in studio C." The lady cackled. It's kind of weird how funny she finds Henry's full title.
"Thank you." Ted didn't know what to expect. Henry obviously didn't hate him or he wouldn't have invited him to this class. Ted was trying not to be too jittery.
There was a song playing when he walked in. Henry was singing before he walked in, he stopped. Ted realized that he forgot to knock.
"Hey, Sorry I'm a little early." Ted didn't want to upset Henry. Not after what happened last week.
"No need to apologize, Ted." Henry smiled. He has a nice smile. Ted relaxes a little.
"You'll lose the blues
And you may lose...
Your heart..." the song ended. That's a nice song, all jazzy and shit.
"That's a pretty song." Ted didn't really no what to say.
"Yes it is." Henry smiled to himself a little. "Do you have a song you want to work on?
"Well I was gonna say Sibella but I like that song." Ted didn't know protocol, is that an ok thing to do? Sibella is a great song but Ted already knew it. Ted felt stupid.
"Oh ok," yup Henry thinks Ted is a dumbass, "that song is written for a more feminine voice but we can go the octave down if you would like." What the fuck does that mean???????
"Whatever you say." Just let Henry take the lead, he knows what he's doing.
"We could also work on Sibella if you'd like." Henry offered.
Ted just nodded. Henry walked over to the piano in the corner of the room. Ted didn't know if he should follow of just stay there. Henry gestured Ted over. Ok so it's cool to go over there. Henry chuckled. Ted knew Henry was laughing at him but he didn't really mind.
"Ok by the next time we do singing lessons if you could get me sheet music that would be terrific."
Ted didn't even think that Henry would need music. Ted didn't where he would get sheet music. Hell ted barely even knew what sheet music fucking was.
"Sing what I play." Henry played a little up and down thing in piano. Ted sang along. Ted felt kind of stupid but he trusted Henry.
"Ok so the first lyrics are,
How 'bout a dance
What do you say
I've got some moves
That I'd love to show ya." Henry sang and played piano at the same time. Is voice sounded so good.
"Can you just sing and I can listen?" Ted was only half joking.
"Nice try but flattery won't work on me, Ted." Henry smiled up at Ted. Ted made Henry smile, yay.
"As long as I get to see that smile again." Ted muttered to himself.
"What was that"
"Nothing" Ted smiled at Henry.
"Sing it with me."
Gladly
"How 'bout a dance
What do you say
I've got some moves
That I'd love to show ya" they sang together. Wow Henry is so much better than Ted holy shit.
Henry taught Ted the rest of the melody. Ted didn't realize how romantic this song was. That's pretty lucky.

"Do you want to do whole song by yourself or do you want me to sing along with you?" Henry asked after they got the whole melody. Ted has an idea.
""I want to sing it by myself." Ted didn't really know how he wanted Henry to respond. It's such a flirtatious song, how could he resist?
"Ok. Whenever you're ready."
Here goes nothing!
"How 'bout a dance
What do you say" Ted started subtle.
"I've got some moves
That I'd love to show ya" Henry was still looking down at the piano. So Ted got closer to the piano. Henry looked up. Ted winked, obviously.
"Let's find a spot
And dance the night
Away..." OHHHH Henry's blushing! Ted had to try not to get flustered as well.
"How 'bout a dance
It's always fun
Come over here
Let me get to know ya" Ted sat down next to Henry on the piano bench. Ted kind of wanted to put his head on Henry's shoulder but that felt like to much.
"Can't beat a band
To lift your spirits high
You look so handsome." FACTS that last line is just complete fact.
"How 'bout a dance
Let's make a start
Music like this
Can really throw ya
You'll lose the blues
And you may lose your heart." Ted was really lucky this song was playing when he walked in. God what a great song.
"Tonight is the night I've been waiting for
Even the moon looks just right
I'm sure the crowd will make room on the floor
When they see you
Look like you do" Henry felt very close. Then Henry started singing. Oh god this man.
"So...
How 'bout a dance
Let's make a start
Music like this
Can really throw ya" Henry started singing something else. It sounded nice it mixed.
"You'll lose the blues
And you may lose your heart
You'll lose the blues
And you may lose...
Your heart..." They has reached the end of the song. Henry stopped playing. Everything went still.
Without thinking Ted leaned in. Ted looked down at Henry's lips. They looked so soft. Ted had never realized how beautiful Henry's eyes were. It's like staring into the ocean.
Ted was right, Henry's lips were soft.
