Chapter 24: Support

Camila is resting in her room; she can’t sleep even though she’s tired from their flight. She kept thinking about Lauren.

They never talked about their relationship yet, she knows that she still loves Lauren but she’s scared that the singer might leave them again and she’ll end up hurt again as well as Clara.
She enjoys spending time with Lauren. She keeps on thinking about the possibilities in the future until she felt the heaviness in her eyes and eventually fall asleep thinking about the singer.

Camila was awakened by the knocks in her hotel room, she looks at her watch she notices that she fell asleep for almost three hours

She stands up and walks to the door and opens it, and she is greeted by Normani.

She saw that the brunette looks like she just woke up. “Hey Camila. Did I wake you up? I’m so sorry”

“No, it’s alright. I didn’t know that I fell asleep.” The brunette said.

"Please, come in.” She steps aside to make room for Normani. And she closes the door once the tall girl entered her room.

“Just sit on the bed, I’m not in the mood to unpack my clothes.” The brunette said.

Normani smiles and sat on the bed, while Camila sat on the chair across the tall girl.

“Hey Mila, can I ask you something?”

Camila nodded. “Ask away”

“I know we just met but I notice that something is bothering you. You’re technically my friend now Mila. You can talk to me about anything. So, what’s wrong? Why didn’t you stay with Lauren?”

Camila expected this conversation from the tall girl. Somehow she knows that she can trust her about these things.

“Nothing. Honestly, I don’t know. I chose to have my own room to give Lauren her privacy.” She fidgeted in her seat and looks at Normani who nodded, she continues to talk, “We haven’t talk about us, you know our relationship. She just came back and I don’t wanna ruin her career that she works so hard for the past years.”

“Lauren talks about you.” Camila looks at the girl.

“You know during her first tour; she keeps talking about you that’s why I know who you are from the beginning. I know she makes mistakes in the past but seeing Lauren now, I know she changed since she came back to your town. I think you should talk to her about the two of you. You will not ruin her career Mila. She did all of these because of you, I remember her talking that you love to see her doing karaoke before, she said that her mom and you are her inspirations to create music. I know you still have doubts but give her chance to prove to you that she’s sincere. And I’m always be here for you I just want to let you know that.” The girl inch close to Camila and touch her hand and smiles reassuringly.

Camila smiles at Normani.

“I guess I’ll talk to her when we got back home. For now, I’ll support her in ways I can. Speaking of Lauren, where is she anyway?”

“She’s at a local radio station right now. She told me to stay here at the hotel in case you woke up. She knocks at your door earlier when you didn’t open she assumes that you fell asleep. She said not to bother you, but Its getting late I woke you up to invite you to dinner. Lauren will be there too after her guesting.”

“I’ll take a shower first then I’ll call you. Is that okay?”

“Yeah sure, take your time. Give me your phone I’ll put my number.”

Camila gave her phone to Normani and vice versa. After they exchange their numbers Normani went back to her room and Camila starts to get herself ready for the dinner.

After an hour, Normani receives a call from the Latina that she’s ready. She went back to Camila’s room and they went downstairs.

“I hope it’s okay? I just call an Uber. Lauren got the car with her.”

“It’s alright. I don’t mind at all.”

The cab arrived and they both went inside. Camila and Normani sat silently during the ride. Camila is still thinking about the impending talk with Lauren, she doesn’t know how will she address the singer about her concerns.

Camila broke out from her thoughts when she heard Normani talking to her.

“Where have you been girl?” Normani asks while giggling.
“You zoned out, we’re already here. Come on!”

Camila bit her lip to hide her embarrassment. She definitely zoned out.

They went out of the car and approach the restaurant.

“Good evening. Welcome to Guard and Grace!” the blonde man greeted them

“Hi. Good evening too. Reservations for Normani Kordei please.”

The blonde man checks the computer for their reservations.

“Here it is, I’ll lead you to your table ma’am, as per your request its away from the crowd and you will have your privacy there once Ms. Lauren arrived.”

“Thank you.”

They both sat down and scan the menu while waiting for Lauren.

“Mila, do you want to order now?”

Camila shook her head and said, “No, I’ll wait for Lauren”

‘Speaking of the devil, she’s calling me” Normani said while swaying her phone in front of Camila.

Camila giggled at Normani.

“Hey Laur, whats up?”

“Where are you?”

“at Guard and Grace. You told me to reserve here for dinner idiot!” Normani said while laughing.

“Is Camila with you? I’m on my way there.”

“Yes, Camila is here. She’s safe with me. We’ll wait for you. Okay. Stay safe.”

The tall girl ended the call.

“She’s on her way Mila.”

Camila just nodded.

After few minutes, Lauren is walking behind Camila. Normani notice it but Lauren signaled her to stay quiet.

Lauren covers Camila’s eyes. “Guess who?”

Camila knew it was Lauren but she playfully responded, “Ryan Gosling?”

Normani laughs at Camila’s antics while Lauren pouted after removing her hand in Camila eyes and sat beside the Latina.

“I’m hurt Camz!” she said still pouting.

“Oh come one Lo, don’t pout. I know that it was you. Who else it’s gonna be right? We’ve been waiting for you here. I’m just messing with you.” the Latina said and kiss the singer’s cheek.

Normani cooed and Lauren smiles broadly at Camila after the kiss.

They ordered food in which Lauren ordered for Camila because the brunette can’t decide what she will eat.

They spend the night, talking mostly Normani talking about Lauren’s upcoming schedule and her embarrassing moments on tour. And Camila enjoys mocking Lauren.

Lauren can’t help but her heart flutters everytime she hears Camila’s laugh.

And she doesn’t mind talking about her embarrassing moments just to hear Camila’s laugh again and again and again..
