Exposed

    As the prisoners who were working with Nile were being transported to the dungeons. They begged for mercy and kept telling their captors that it was all Nile's plan. Of course they wouldn't listen.

    As for the King, he was loosing a lot of blood as they knew there was no way to save him. They had no choice for him to wake up or let his body out in peace.

    In the dungeon while that was happening, a soldier came in and asks,

          "Leonhardt. You're presence is requested."

          "By whom?" She responds.

          "Queen Reiss."

    Annie obeys and heads out the room with the soldier. She was guarding the so called "murderers of the king" in a dungeon. As she got out, Hitch was waiting outside. Marlo as well.

          "You too eh?" Hitch says.

    Annie gave a small nod walked towards the hallway with them.

          "Is the queen endangered?" She asked.

          "The King was just murdered! Use common sense girl." The soldier said.

    Annie frowns. She knew that but quite suspicious with the captive. With her bumping into Nile in blood especially.

          "Anyways, we're getting as much people as we can to guard her at all costs."

*Later*

    Queen Reiss and Historia were still morning the death of the King but outside. They've prepared a mausoleum. They weren't going to bury it but leave it out to pay respect in case if he does perish. Almost everyone was outside and the setting was more like a garden. Annie sees Levi and approaches him.

          "Captain. May I speak with you?"

          "I'm sure whatever you have to say won't be private considering what is going on now."

          "This is serious matter."

          "...*sigh* Follow me."

    They move together and away from the crowd. They both went to a fountain.

          "Alright, what's the deal."

          "I don't believe the men who killed the King are the actual murderers."

          "What do you mean? Are you saying they were framed?"

          "I-I'm not sure. I thought about for a while but I just can't seem to-"

          "What made you think they were framed in the first place."

          "Well do you find it believable that Commander Nile just happened to catch three murderers red-handed in the act of murder?"

          "Are you implying that Commander Nile did it? Commander Nile once fought against four skilled Maria soldiers at once. He killed them all. You wouldn't know that because you're new around here, kid."

"Look, I know it's sounds pretty questionable but-"

"But what? Do you have any physical evidence I can have?"

".......No."

"Okay then. Just mind your place."

          "Wait, but the prisoners kept saying it was him."

"Yes because cowards will say anything to save their lives."

"I did ran into him with blood in his hands just from the same room the King was slaughtered."

          "Yes there was battle today in case you didn't....notice......"

Annie stares at Levi in a concerned face while Levi stared straight ahead.

"Captain?"

"What if it's coincidence? Huh?"

"I-that is why I'm confused now."

"He always wished he could rule..." Levi mutters to himself.

"Hmm?"

"Uh-nothing. It's just... Commander Nile is a trusted soldier and a dear friend from the king and for him to take actions like this... "

"But-"

Levi puts his hand behind Annie's back and walk her slowly.

"Look, just your mind your place and if you want, do some more digging, now we have to tend to our dead king."

"I'm telling you captain, I think something is up."

Annie walks away. She didn't know where she was headed but it didn't matter. She knew she couldn't give up on those innocent men. She started inside the castle and to the direction the imprisoned men.

Meanwhile, Levi was looking for Erwin. He caught his eye as he was guarding the king's body as people were coming by paying respects. Levi walks up to him and stands beside him, both not making eye contact.

         "Levi. Tell me, why not capture Annie right off the spot there when she went inside the castle?"

          "Excuse me?"

          "Erwin told before then that she helped Annie kill the King. We have no evidence linked to the traitors so we'll have to let her go."

          "No loose ends eh?"

          "What?"

          "Hehe. Say Erwin I need to look into something."

          "Well, what is that?"

          "The prisoners. They may've been framed-"

          "The king! He's alive!"

    Everyone turned their attention to whoever said that. The interrupted Levi looked as well. The king was well and breathing. Well he wasn't coughing up blood. People were helping him up.

          "His pulse. I thought he was gone..." Erwin says.

    Levi ran his way through the crowd and walked up to the King. Someone stopped him and said,

          "Hey, watch it, he needs to rest."

          "You watch it, you're speaking to your superior brat now beat it."

          "Let him through..." The king said weakly. Historia and the Queen were next to him as well checking him over by the way.

          "Who did this to you??"

          "Co-commaaander Nile..."

    Just as Levi thought. A horse neighed in the background. Everyone looked the horse galloped out of there quick. "Nile!" Levi screams as he runs. A lot of soldiers follow Levi and Erwin as well.

    *I hope I didn't confuse y'all in the chapters because I went through some re-writes. Besides that, you know the usual and peace!*
