In New York City, a family of ten prepared for their day as the sun began to rose. The Faustini family, Italian-Americans who made their wealth through a fashion empire, never succumb to laziness.
Whether it be forty year old Valentino himself who keeps himself very busy with his company, or his socialite wife who tends to their children.
Or could it be their eldest daughter Amara, who once shared a passion for sports up until recently.
Or could it be their eldest son Lorenzo, the mathematical genius setting high standards for his younger siblings by topping his classes and graduating high school with an impressive self-earnt GPA.
But then it could also be the younger teenage sisters Catalina and Elena who are both seventeen and fifteen respectively. The two spend most of their time together despite their differences. Catalina loves to dance and be friendly whilst Elena prefers to be alone and design dresses.
But that's only half of the family, that's barely scraping the surface in comparison to Donatello. Donatello, the thirteen year old writer. He's witty and charming, he made marvellous observations and seemed to be following in pursuit of Lorenzo's excellence.
Then you see the younger brother Alessandro, while only eleven, he still manages to be admired by news outlets and praised for his good looks. He clearly looks up to his brother Donatello from time to time, but the two aren't as close as Catalina and Elena.
But at least Alessandro gets someone around his age. Luciana, the youngest daughter of the Faustini family, came after Alessandro and was then followed by the baby Elio who was born earlier this year. She had no family members she could really talk to, but this didn't seem to affect her as she was Valentino's favourite.
There wasn't much to say about little Elio, he was a baby whose presence brought a certain happiness to the Faustini household just by existing. The fact that there was something so youthful and bubbly nearby made the members feel a whole lot better.
Amara's hair was a mess as she walked down the stairs and joined the family by the dinner table. Elena scoffed and Catalina hushed her. Before Elena could comment, she diverted the family's attention. "So, Roman offered to drive me around from now on. I think I should take it, it'd make it easier on you guys, wouldn't it?." Catalina brought the subject up and Elena was appalled.
"He didn't offer to drive me. I'm just as much of a friend to him as you." Elena replied.
"Well sorry." Elena stood up and she quickly followed her sentence up. "It's like you've been distracted lately."
Elena didn't answer her, she left the food on the table as she stalked off. Catalina sighed in defeat.
Elena grabbed her bag from her room and quickly left the penthouse. Once she was outside, she sat on a bench in a pout. But she was not alone for long, Leo walked in from the gates and Elena groaned.
"I thought I told them not to let you in." Elena groaned as he plopped down beside her.
"They know who I am." Leo smiled brightly as Elena looked away. "Would you like to go out tonight?"
Elena sighed. "Not tonight, but right now would be suitable."
Leo stood up and held his hand out to her. "Come." He said. "We can talk about things in the car."
Meanwhile, back inside the penthouse, Catalina walked towards her bedroom and saw Donatello. He was absent from this morning's breakfast, so she welcomed herself into his room.
His back remained facing the window as he typed away on his laptop. "What're you writing about?" Asked Catalina.
Donatello turned away from his laptop, fully spinning around in his chair to face Catalina. "Not real life." He answered. "I'm writing a response to an article implying the best characters are those based off of people in real life. I have to disagree. I have yet to meet someone who I think is worth writing about." Donatello answered.
